I don't think Tesla should make gas savings part of the order page that causes it to display a lower price. It should just be an informational field. The savings can be very high if you are switching from a gas guzzler, your daily commute is long, and you can charge at home. But that's a lot of things to be true. However, the savings on things like oil changes and other ICE maintenance you get "talked into" while your oil is being changed is real. I was afraid ties would wear more on an EV but it didn't turn out to be true. The same tire only lasted 20k on my Cadillac ATS but on our Tesla Model 3 they lasted 30k.

If you already have an EV, there is zero gas savings… that should definitely not be the default feature on the website. It’s incredibly misleading.

If your going to advertise gas savings in their price strategy you also need to incorporate Insurance costs to be real world. That typically offsets any gas savings

My model 3 is costing $2000 more each year to insure than my toyota did. That will kill all savings over the life of the car and actually add costs.

Could you do a video explaining the tax credit. For example, when you purchase the car you buy it at full cost and then you are later reimbursed for the 7, 500 dollar tax credit?

By switching from a quarter to a flathead screwdriver, I saved $40 in labor putting my dresser together, so instead of my dresser that cost me $600 subtract my labor which gave me a $40 discount so my dresser really cost me $560. That kind of financing is brilliant.

For everyone interested you can change the gas saving part on the website to zero. but I do wish they would drop the interest rate for the long range model three as well

I used FSD on my trip from Texas to Colorado and it hasn't improved much. It does keep in the lane well but it made a lot of mistakes so I was on edge baby sitting it. It would have been less stress for me to just drive. The only thing it did was let me rest my leg on a few easy stretches. I did have to turn on "minimize lane changes" in the settings, it would try to move into short clearly marked turn only lanes thinking it was an available forward lane. I also had phantom braking several times even on easy daytime driving on clearly marked long stretches of highway. As for the trip it was good and there were no congested superchargers even with Rivians using them, however we were able to find a "hidden" supercharger the car would not offer in the navigation in Albuquerque.

The CT wheel hubs are full of rust without the covers on. Saw about 15 of them at a showroom and they were all terribly rusted out
