Influences on Karl Marx

In this video we shall look at the body of work that influenced the work of Karl Marx. This takes the form of three different schools of thought within Philosophy and Economics:

- German Idealist Philosophy (e.g. Hegel, Feuerbach)
- French Socialism (e.g. Rousseau)
- British Political Economy (e.g. Adam Smith)

Solid video, though I’d stress it’s important to go into more depth about how Marx went from Dialectical idealism to Historical materialism, and also there’s a lot more to say about Rousseau and Feuerbach. As far as the philosophical underpinnings of Marxism goes, this is very surface level. 👍
