Last words of Karl Marx

Karl Marx, the German philosopher, critic of political economy, economist, historian, sociologist, political theorist, journalist and socialist revolutionary, died in 1883, at the age of sixty-five. In his last moments, somebody asked him whether he had any last words, Marx said:

"Go on, get out! Last words are for fools who haven't said enough."

At his funeral, Friedrich Engels, another German philosopher, critic of political economy and a close friend of Marx said:

“On the 14th of March, at a quarter to three in the afternoon, the greatest living thinker ceased to think. He had been left alone for scarcely two minutes, and when we came back we found him in his armchair, peacefully gone to sleep—but forever.”

The same people who claim Marx killed millions fail to understand that he’s a philosopher not a politician & the industrial revolution set Britain’s life expectancy back to the days of the plague, Marx had plenty of reasons to understandably critique society

I’ll leave here a comment i found on quora which states facts. People here don’t know what they’re talking about. Study Marx’s ideas before criticizing and even insulting him.
“a lot of horrible dictatorships have been established in his name. While the dictators are influenced by Marxism, their understanding of Marxism was still based on the nature of the nations’ lived experiences, meaning that it was not what Marx envisioned at all. When the countries we know as ‘communist’ (and I use quotes because they were not really communist) were established, they were poor countries so they did not have the resources to spread around adequately. Workers were not truly emancipated yet and have also been used to a ruler leading the way and the industrialized nations at the time were doing their best to repress the workers movements that led to the rise of the ‘communist’ nations on the Eastern Bloc (Of the Russian Revolution, Winston Churchill said “Let’s strangle that baby while it’s still in the crib”). While the ‘communist’ nations were terrible regimes, it should be understood that they were the result of an imperfect understanding of Marx. Marx himself would disapprove of the regimes as much as he disapproves of capitalist societies for being bureaucratic rather than democratic and not conducive to developing workers’ power.

So basically, two groups of people hate Marx: 1) the people who mistakenly believe that Marxism leads to oppressive regimes like DPRK and 2) the ruling class who would be extinct if Marxism, as properly understood, takes hold in society.”

Certainly it has been the fear of death that has prevented me from sitting comfortably and thinking, least I repeat dear Karl’s life of no productivity.

This man lived on handouts and loans from family and friends his entire life. He was so inspired by it he wrote books and came up with a philosophy on how to do it at a much larger scale. Communism is the final destination. Socialism is the means to get there.

Great man and a great thinker. Whether you agree or not we here in America shouldn't ever consider someone who came up with an idea as large as his with such passion anything but great

Reading these comments I wonder if in various other school systems in the world literature and similar subjects are studied in any comparable way like in my country: Italy.
Seems like materialistic aspects are more important to some people, which I tend to agree with myself, but there's no harm in studying these historical figures.

Although not literally the same, some concepts that origin from some of these historical figures shape many important aspects of different countries in the world, including politics and economics, even nowadays. I believe the beauty of these topics is the fact theories regarding such issues are always changing.

Marx's real last words were: "The wealth of those societies in which the capitalist mode of production prevails, presents itself as 'an immense accumulation of commodities, ' . . . "

Remember folks, money doesn't buy happiness. Wisdom is the great reward. Also, not having money sucks ass!
