You’d be correct about how tech priests view them. In the ‘Tech-Priest’ a high ranking Magos squares off with a squad of obliterators. And even though he was stalling for time he stated along the lines of “you are slaves to your weapons. Where we meld with the machine spirits, each bringing out the strength of the other, you are slaves to the diseased metal that inhabits your body. A mere puppet of meat upon which the tools dwell. Do not deign to compare yourself to the righteous melding of flesh and steel of the mechanicus.” (It’s been awhile since I read it so that’s definitely not word for word but the closest I can remember)
