The daemon engines used by the chaos space marines have got to be one of the most disturbing creations in the entirety of warhammer 40k's lore, and they come in a whole heap of different flavors of awful, from the vile heldrakes to the scuttling venom crawlers, were gonna get into who, how what and why these terrible things are. its honestly no wonder the adeptus mechanicus views the dark mechanicum and their creations as tech heresy of the highest order!

I did not know that the demons inside the engine suffrs horribly, but with all the pain and suffering going on the galaxy it is refreshing to see it happen to something that truly deserves it.

The best daemon engine is clearly the Lord of Skulls. Some Khornate Warpsmith decided "I want to make a tank that can melee!" And then he did it... by sticking basically a knight torso on top of a pair of treads and powering it with blood... I don't know how he managed it, but damned if its not amazing.

38:59 The term "Motive Force" was likely taken from "Electro-Motive Force", which is an archaic term for Voltage, which was wrongly believed to be a force for centuries, and the term "Electro-Motive Force" (usually abbreviated to EMF) is still sometimes used by electrical engineers when calculating Inductance as a useful shorthand for how Currents and Voltages interact wth nearby wires and coils, so the "Motive Force" is almost certainly just modern electricity with a fancy and suitably archaic name for 40k's setting.

The analogy is not perfect, but they definitely have a grain of "what if you made a servitor out of demon instead of a human"

Can't help but feel that when the demon engine creation ritual is enacted in the Eye of Terror the Chaos Sorcerer and Dark Apostle has the easiest jobs. Less ripping the fabric of reality open and enticing a demon through, more point and shouting "Oi you, yeah you with the multiple eyes and horns, come here".

If/when the Dark Mechanicum becomes a faction, I think I found my first army. I just resonate more with them as a faction; a group that sought innovation but was shunned and pushed further and further into more profane experimentation to survive.

My personal demon engine would be an over sized Heldtake that’s one part air combat vehicle and one part troop transport known as the Helwyverm, Chaos Marines can travel in them without getting consumed by them. They’re armed with more ranged weapons and are able to crawl on the ground in a terrifying manner.
