Bench Vise Rope Tip

I use this method whenever my vice does not fit the piece I’m trying to work on. You could also do the same with the chain and hook, but rope is nicer to materials like wood. It’s very similar to a webbing strap buckle, only with rope.

A project suggestion. An inexpensive self escape rig for vehicles. A double tailed lanyard that rides around the seat belt anchor. One tail supports a cheap retractible shop knife as a seat belt cutter. The other tail supports a cheap automatic center punch as a glass breaker. Under $10 DIY.

I have loved all of your videos! Now, I think this Rope Buckle can be used in other areas as well, I will try using it to cinch down some items on my proper ty, it sounds like a cool knot to know.

You've shown it a few times now on the channel, but for the curious, the first knot is the Angler's Loop (ABOK #1017) also call the Perfection Loop.
If you need to untie this after a large load, a bowline will work just as well instead.

Now that is one handy little knot !
I can see me using that system for securing stone for carving, rather than making a frame and wedging the block in.

Super cool! Do you prefer the auto-locking truckers hitch or the rope buckle in general? I have a toolbox strapped into my trunk with an auto-locking truckers currently

Loose vice, loose mind. And "under extreme tension you'd never get this undone" then why not use a bowline for the loop?

whats the benefit over blackwall hitch?
