Brian Barczyk was a passionate wildlife enthusiast and vlogger who dedicated his life to sharing his extraordinary journey with animals on YouTube since May 10, 2016. His remarkable adventures led him to be part of TV network series, produce “Brian In The Wild” a documentary in South Africa, travel globally to encounter incredible animals and their advocates, initiate “Checking In” a podcast, establish “AnimalConUSA” a convention for animal content creators and their fans, and create The Reptarium - an interactive reptile zoo in Utica, Michigan, among many many other achievements.

In March 2023, Brian faced the greatest challenge of his life with a diagnosis of inoperable Pancreatic Cancer. His strength, courage, and the unyielding support of the incredible #ReptileArmy community inspired him to continue sharing his story and pursuing his dreams, even in the toughest times.

Brian's vision for the LegaSea Aquarium & The Reptarium, a symbol of resilience and the power of dreams, is now a legacy that his crew and family are devoted to bringing to life in his honor. As we break ground on this expanded facility just across the street from The Reptarium, we embrace this mission as a testament to Brian's indomitable spirit.

It’s almost like the Leagasea was Brian’s gift to everyone and especially Lori to help us to not dwell on his passing but to move forward with something amazing to distract us that he isn’t here anymore. A gift from God and Brian to this loving group of individuals.

Jay, you should absolutely do a 2 hour documentary about The Legasea. I'm sure you have thousands of hours of material that hasn't been seen. I'm sure a lot of us would pay for a Blu-ray or even pay to rent/buy on a streaming service like Hulu. We've been following the vlog for years and have been with you all since the start of The Legasea and have loved the journey. It'd be awesome to see it all in a doc.

I still wish they would put a statue of him in the aquarium. At the least they should have pictures of all the great people who made this aquarium possible on a wall (The Legasea builders wall)

I am right with you all VERY EMOTIONAL DAY. BOY WE ALL WISH BRIAN WAS HERE. Lori you are the best. Brian lived you so. I feel so much love you all are very BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE INSIDE AND OUT . I will try to make it up from Ohio. I have breast cancer, then my hubby had to have leg amputated due to blood clotting and veins would not supply to foot. Took all the way to knee. Brian’s dream coming true! When we visited and I brought tacos for everyone, when Brian wanted me to go with him to eat in the birthday party room at the Reptarium, he told me all about this LegaSea aquarium and how excited he was! Very special moment between Brian and I!
