Big day everyone. After India received generation 4 coverage 12 hours ago, we now have the long-awaited nation of Cyprus in the game!

Cypriot here! I saw the google car passing outside my house about a month ago (most probably I was photographed as well heh), so I can confirm as well! I live near Limassol that is quite close to the locations that are already published!

As a Cypriot I can always tell the location just by looking at the mountains 😂 and it's much easier when it's on the highway, each one has something unique

I am super excited for Cyprus finally being added. I was on holiday there in November and saw them drive around twice, rural roads aswell, kind of in the mountains. So coverage should be way more than just the motorways and british bases. Cyprus is a beautiful country, small but super diverse. The fact that you can grow bananas and papayas aswell as apples and pears in one small island should say enough of the incredible diversity. As of meta, it should be easy enough to distinguish from Greece but mosgly I am just super happy that one of the most beautiful countries is finally in the game to be enjoyed!

Id say a super useful way to identify cyprus is the signs (greek in yellow, english in white) and the plates - yellow, white, or orangey-red. Yellow is the old colour (but many cars still have it), white is the new colour, and orangey-red is for rental cars, but you'll find quite a few of them

I wonder why Google doesn't use an algorithm (similar to what Photoshop uses) to _completely_ erase the car. Not even a blur or anything. Just like there was no car at all. Given that they have photos of the previous and next position, those could be used to replace the car in the current one, using clever algorithms.
