I like the game but I really don’t understand how someone completely independent to the main story can get their quest line blocked by progress.

for those who don’t know if you only activate the first shrine of chapter 2 you can still go back to chapter 1 and find horse man he’ll still be sitting on the rock hope this helps someone

My 3rd play through and this quest was my whole purpose this time. Only thing I don’t have and now I’ve passed the Chap 5 boss. Really just pissed me off.

This horse man stuff is really buggy, the very first time I arrived at thunderclap temple, he wasnt even leaning on the pillar; and now he’s not in the cocoon. But if i go back to rat area, he’s still tied up. Guess bro’s stuck there forever.

To anyone that's confused and can't find him someplace — the way this works is you automatically fail the quest if you ever beat the final boss of a chapter before speaking to Bojack Horseman. In my instance, I talked to him in chapter 1 and 2, completely forgot about him, I'm now in chapter 5 and was going to go back and talk to him in chapter 3 and 4, not happening. Just make sure you exhaust his dialogue in every chapter BEFORE beating the final boss.

i found the cart and the whip was there but i couldnt fully pull it.
i killed the fish boss and come back, whip is gone.. wtf happened

Looks like the quest fails if you don't find him before you leave a chapter; I'm on CH. 5, haven't done the firekeeper boss yet but can't find him in any of his previous locations.

Today I was wondering why I never had a follow up on him in Act 6.
Now I see ....

I completely missed this Damaged Cart in my Chapter 5 play through. Goes to show how you can easily overlook things in this game.
