I saw them in 1987 openimg for Anthrax in Pensacola Florida. I met them...sort of. Me and my friend Gary Swartzlander were driving around trying to find Sanger Theater where Stevie Ray Vaughn shot his last video before he died. We saw a group of 5 guys wearing denim and leather with long hair so we knew they were going to the show. We asked them where the theater was and they told us. As we pulled away we realized the were the members of Testament. We racesd around the block to catch them again. They were gone. It is not "The Testament". They are Testament.

With this song, your hearing the writings of Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson. Alex's writings within Testament were more of the slow methodical blues style of writing while Eric Peterson was more of the Thrash hard hitting writings like Practice, Faces in the Sky, Absence of Light and Malpractice among others. Alex wrote the opening line to this song and closing of this track, Ballad, The Ritual, Return to Serinity and the track Low. After the Ritual CD, Alex and Eric could not get along so Alex packed his stuff and left the band and did not return until after the release of the Formation of Damnation CD

Since you're pulling out some testament, you should look into the "Formation of Damnation" album. It cone out in 2008. Preferred songs:

Personally for ballads I like Return to Serenity way more. But we all have our own tastes, but I love Testament.
