Hello Aluxers! You're all risk-takers here, so.. What's the biggest risk you ever took in life?

I made a risk when I moved to Seattle from Texas after I was broke, suicidal and homeless. I got lucky, had a friend who wasn't living in their apt so I took over rent with one month free. I walked for miles risking my feet and back (first learned about sciatic pain haha) but I found a job and paid rent. I got a better job, then another and another then decided to open my business. Now I'm a 1/3 homeowner in Seattle just a few minutes from the beach. My business just hit 100k in gross sales and my cost of operation is about 30% so I am no longer broke and I have assets now that will only appreciate.

Nice video.... Successful people take risk... Invest their money and time on businesses at any given opportunity. Money is worthless until you put it to work.

Sometimes it feels like your in a jail cell when you don't have enough money, just confined, I will risk almost everything to not be confined any more. Very motivational video

A risk I took was leaving the military. I had a lot of fun moments but many service members stay in because it's safe (ironically),
consistent bimonthly paycheck,
set daily schedule,
3 meals a day,
won't have to worry about getting fired over shitty work,
automatic 401k contributions
and are told what to do and how.

I knew prior to leaving the dangers I would need to embrace transitioning back into civilian life.
Lack of purpose,
you set your schedule,
Returning to the same shit you've been doing prior to the military,
Getting into trouble with the law,
risk of losing your job,
inconsistent pay check,
lack of physical fitness,
no 3 meals a day,
Lack of recognition,
no one cares about your problems, no retirement,
no accountability,
no one looking over your shoulder telling what is right or wrong.

But the singular best thing I got out of leaving the military

Choice.
The choice knowing I can set my schedule, how much I can make and etc. The choice knowing I don't have a contract hanging over my head.
Choice knowing my time is not the government's time.

No. 12: The risk of being yourself is so true.
I felt like, I am not free. Once you get the recognition of people you felt the pressure to act the way they wanted. They want you to be this, or that, or anything that you're not. I felt that pressure and to think what I would choose, to be myself or pretend where I'm not happy. You're constantly having the confusion of who am I. It is so hard and sometimes, I like to shut myself from the world, constantly reminding myself of my values, who am I, reflecting everything I've been doing.

The last time I took major risks was during 2020. I had to go through a lot of major issues, but I kept pushing through the pain and anxiety and have come out better. The only thing that stopped me was my physical limits based on my cucrent circumstances. Honestly I'm still pushing: the situation and what I need to push through is what has changed. I think that after these 3 years now is the time to relax in order to grow more naturally. My being cannot keep this type of growth up indefinetly but I know I did my best and I will never give up. No one can say I did not put my being through the absolute shit, constantly to the point where now everyone is telling me to STOP XD. I know that the guilt I feel relaxing or not doing some things I used to is important, but now is that time since I am coming into a new stage of growth in my life that will lead me to success and a new situation where I can build generational and inner wealth of being. Thank you Alux for being there to give the hard truth that is so desperately needed for young people like me.

RISK. I've always seen myself as an enabler of great things and throughout my career, I've seen the massive success of others through my ideas and quick-thinking but also spent a lot of that time being anonymous, feeling like an imposter, like I was not worthy of great reward, and just plain old "happy to have been part of the plan". The result was a feeling of being left behind or cast aside.

This video has hit home for me on a number of levels. I am literally starting over from scratch, pushing all my chips into the table. It's time to win.

One quote from Richard Branson on failure is "I’ve had many challenges – every entrepreneur does – it’s the nature of the beast. It can be a challenge not to let failure, or negativity from others, prevent you from going after what you believe in"

Facing the negativity from other people and not allowing it into your life, be it from family/friends or even a stranger on the street is a tough challenge, I'm facing it right now, I'm at the next stage of my life, I know what I want in life and it will involve risks and failure to get there.

But I ain't giving up, no way, the outcome of me giving up is something that's just scary and I don't want that.

Risk
As a mom of 2 kids, I used my stimulus check to take an online IT class so I can work from home. I now have a 6 figure job working from home. I am glad I took the risk.

Amazing!! Indeed one of my favorites. I believe we are at constant risk from the moment we open our eyes until they are shut again. However the most life fulfilling moments are in direct proportionate to the level of risk. But not everyone can tolerate risk or better yet the worry and anxiety that comes with it. But I do believe and I have seen it that if you don’t take the right risks when you know the reward would be greater; time will fly by you and that, you can never take back. And the regret that comes with it will haunt you for the rest of your life. Best of luck to all the risk takers out there.

This video has ignited the true inspiration in me.🔥
I'm an old subscriber of it btw.
"RISK"
Yeah I'm gonna take as much as possible according to my risk reward ratio.💪🏼
Some near future risks for me are:
Moving out & living alone,
Becoming super-rich,
Quitting short term pleasures for long term peace
And
Trying to live a legacy. ❤️
Thanks ✌🏼

RISK I risked having my son last year. I was 26, pretty broke and took the pregnancy test just as lockdown started.
I had no idea how my husband and I were going to manage, but we focused and got our shit together.
I've turned my own life around and the things I've learnt since have made me stronger and smarter.
This baby has a better childhood than either of us, and it feels amazing

Risk.
2 months ago, I quit my permanent contract job while having my first kid on the way, opting for a new position at a year contract with only marginally higher pay (it differs a max of 30 euros per month) but in the field I've been wanting to get into for years. Decided to flip the proverbial bird(it all went professionally) and to choose for myself, even at the risk of unemployment with a baby coming.
Couldn't be happier I did it, enjoying my work so much more! My wife recently commented I actually smile when I get home these days.

Risk ... The last time I took a risk was 2020 April at the start of covid. I went online and completed the necessary work to become a security guard. Most jobs require one year experience in the field when I had spent the last 3 years being a waitress. It took seemingly forever, until October, before I was issued my guard card. Now I have a job I love and am willing to stay with hopefully until retirement. By the way, I do get really encouraged listening to these videos to give me a necessary positive mental experience to be constantly learning new things. Thank you and your videos are the best. Keep up the good work ALUX

Natural born risk taker since 2010 & I haven’t stopped since, when you look back at how far you grow from it, how much experience you gain from it & how far you come from making such choices it’s always better then being just the person who sits there & wonders

“if I did this different then maybe this would have happened”

Don’t be a person like that, always take the risk ✅☝🏾.

Dear Alux, I feel so happy about this particular video and it's content mainly because hardly had I started to watch the much needed inspiring video from Alux, this video came up before my view almost immediately! I am really thankful to also and Universe as well... The second reason is that I belong to a RISK managing Company.. Health Insurance field which was a part of my dream in the past, and which continues to be a part of my highly motivating OND project now.

Taking risks during the pandemic. Long story short, a developer lost his job due to covid, started a new business model, and failed.. ended up with his parents. A year later with a new plan, but a new variant Omicron spread all over the world. To avoid the long-term risk, planning to postpone it and get more knowledge in the meantime. ✌🏼
