The formula is a+(n-1)d
where,
a= first term
n= the term we have to find out
d= the difference

Just had a flashback to my school days and a belated eureka moment. Thank you so much. Closure at last! 🎉

The nice thing about this being on shorts is even though it's fast, I can watch it over and over until I connect the dots. Doing good work here man.

An = a + (n-1)d
So
a+d = 7
a+5d=23
By subtraction
4d=16
d=4 so a=3
a90 = a+89d = 3+89(4) =359

Thanks for revision. To solve such question (AP), when given terms are not as close as given in the mentioned question, we can use the general formula, which is nth term = first term+(n-1)d.
In the question of our Honourable mentor, we can use this formula too, first you to find, the first term and difference (d) and then the answer off the given question by putting value into the formula. Someone will argue that it will take time but believe me, it won't if you have have good practice. I solvedit within second mentally without touching pen and paper. You can too.

You remind me of my old teacher who taught me in 9th and 10th class. My teacher was used to teach most simple things to the most crucial things woth the same simplicity. You are really cool

i would have placed (89)(4) instead of 4(89) for consistency with 4d. Where 4 is the number of places or 89 and d is the quantity each space jump or 4.

Besides he could have made an example with more spaces to jump in order to make it more clear

If the problem was the same but with these values ->2nd number is 7 and the 8th number is 31

then
7+6d=31
d=4

thus
1st place + 89 places = 90th place

3+89(4)=90th place
=359

Commenting helps your algorithm
Then it is also a pause before I rewatch to comprehension.
I love the freedom within rule sets; math must be penultimate

This gives me a feeling Fredrick Gauss would be happy he sees a kid in school finding this out on his own

Xn = dn + f - d
Where d is common difference
F is first term
This equation is derived from the equation Xn = an + b
Where an = dn
And b= f - d
This equation can be used to find answers for any questions related to arithmetic sequence

Why is it that those who love mathematics. They stay a wake even after heavy lunch. NonLovers will sleep even after taking military coffee

It's pronounced AIR-ETH-MATIC when you're talking about the sequences.

T2 = 7
a + d = 7 --(1)
T6 = 23
a + 5d = 23 --(2)
(2) - (1)
4d = 16
d = 4
a = 7 - 4
= 3
T90 = 3 + (90 - 1)(4)
= 359
