01 - Intro to Sequences (Arithmetic Sequence & Geometric Sequence) - Part 1

In this lesson, you will learn what a sequence is in math, why they are important, and how sequences are used. We will also learn about two of the most important mathematical sequences, the Arithmetic Sequence and the Geometric Sequence. The Arithmetic sequence is a listing of numbers where the terms of the sequence differ by a common difference. The terms of a geometric sequence, by contrast, differ by a common ratio. Because of this, we can predict the terms of an arithmetic sequence by simply adding or subtracting a constant between terms. We can predict the terms of a geometric sequence by simply multiplying adjacent terms by a constant.

I think geometric sequence is called so because of its pattern in relation to geometrical figures like similar triangles where the ratio their sides remains the same irrespective of their sizes.

Notes taking (making) and keeping is very important in studies. Sometimes it is as good as keeping books in our shelves. It help us to organise our lessons at a single place and serves a source for quick reference.
