I made an avatar from scratch recently...

It was hell but it looks half decent actually for my first one and only has a hundred things wrong rather than a thousand and is still a *rough rough* draft due to me watching almost 20 hours of videos pausing and rewinding a lot over many days and talking with a lot of people with more experience on discord and learning a whole world of how this modelling, game engines, creator companion, and a bunch of other useful things actually work to get here. It really is a humbling experience, but helps you appreciate the world of avatars by knowing what's actually impressive in this beautiful game.

I started modelling my own avatar (which is my own original species) quite some time ago. I've stopped due to a lack of time, but i intend to finish it. What I've learnt is that everything starts as cubes and rectangles, and then you gradually add more and more detail. I had 4 years of CAD experience, and experience texturing and uploading avatars. So I figured I should do the model first. I didnt think it would be easy but even for me it was very humbling.
