To add some context, this guy isn't really a villain, he fought with IP Man to defend an elementary school and then made his own martial arts school and got it in his head that IP Man doesn't use Wing Chun correctly and challenged him to a duel which was posted in the newspaper and IP Man ignored it due to wanting to be with his sick wife. Later, she sent the guy a letter asking for a match for her husband and why he didn't go to the first one and this guy agreed to it.

hi, I have been practicing Wing Chun for 8 years. I can explain this fight to you. In the third episode of the Ip Man saga, Grand Master Ip Man fights against another Wing Chun master. (I don't remember his name). This master practices traditional Wing Chun as it was taught. Ip Man modified his style with the teachings of other masters and different concepts of use of the "principles" that are the basis of the Wing Chun system, therefore it is considered "not original". In this fight they face each other to determine who practices Wing Chun more effectively. They are two obviously almost perfect masters. Everything you see IN THIS CASE, that is, in this specific fight, is different from any other fight because it is Wing Chun against Wing Chun, same principles, different skills. They start with the long staff (Luk Dim Boon Kwun) which represents the fifth form. The "weapons" in Wing Chun are not intended as a study of weapons for attacking, but are a study of the movements of one's body through these "weapons" as tools of extension of the user's body.
