I'm with penny here. I'm surprised Beverly even cared about Leonard getting married cuz it never seemed like they had a real mother son relationship. she viewed him more as an experiment during most of his life. it's crazy to me that Penny actually had a bonding moment with her before Leonard did. It says a lot.

I don’t get why Penny tries so hard to make Beverly like her. It’s not like Leonard pressures her to, he even tells Penny that he doesn’t like Beverly.

This really proves what Beverly said about Penny in an earlier episode right. She only values herself how other people see her and is always looking for validation. Funny how as the show goes on Leonard becomes the more confident one while Penny becomes more insecure.
