Happy FS100 owner here. I found one locally New Old Stock (open box) in a pro camera shop in 2019.
Seriously addicted to all kinds of vintage lenses. I also use it for interviews and gear review videos. Love it!

How would you rate this camera compared to mid range mirrorless like the a6300 for a lower average price on the used market? Same sensor size, both support picture profiles with manual tuning. Also the a6300 has a better codec with higher bitrate and 120 fps in 1080p. Sure, the FS100 has XLR inputs and more button. But in terms of IQ?

Hi, a friend gave me this Sony FS100 camera, but without accessories, battery+lens+microphone .. just the case, I film videos and basketball games, so do you advise me to use it in 2024 or not? I don't need 4k or 8k just an HD image. thanks

Honestly I still can’t stand 4K cinema. Anything more than 1080p has always felt like an over-sharpened Photoshop image. This camera is amazing!
