Summer 1974. 50 years ago this month on a warm summer night I can still recall listening to this song on a small portable radio on the back porch and the moon, clouds, warm breeze. I was 15 years young. Nothing special going on but summer vacation and soaking in the tranquility while thinking about some high school girl I had a crush on. God what I would give for a time machine

I think Joni and Karen Carpenter had two of the most distinctive, crystal clear, beautiful voices ever.

Immediately takes you back to late spring ‘74, with “Band on the Run” coming on the radio right afterwards

This song is like a fine wine that gets better with age

A total original. Joni Mitchell doesn't sound like anybody else and no one else sounds like her. That is really rare.

Reminds me of Saturday afternoons in the 70's fishing with your dad, who allows you to taste beer for the first time while flys buzz around as the sunsets...

1974. I was only 9 but I remember it being a simpler time and songs like this ruled the airwaves.

This was the 1st song of hers I heard. I was driving and had to pull over because I was crying at the genius of what I was hearing. For me, she has never been topped as a songwriter who is multi-talented.

One of the greatest songs ever written, performed, recorded. It saved my life several times. 500 years from now people will still marvel at it. If we still exist, or are allowed arts and music.

Still one of the best songs of the 20th century. Joni has such a pure, honest voice.

I love this song. It's so soothing. It takes me to a place where there are endless blue skies, I can feel the warmth of the sun beaming on my face, in a field of daisies.

I have always loved this song. The nuances. The syncopation. The masterful lyrical phrasing. The blend of voices on the “help me” all send a jolt of joy to the feel good center of my brain.

And it just feels good . (Didn’t it feel good? lol)
