Athing really is humble—at the Olympics when she won the 800 she didn’t even celebrate before or after the line until she congratulated her competition

It was horrible when she fell during Olympic trials.

Despite being a teen, she made the other olympians look like kids!

Love and admire Athing Mu and her considerable gifts and achievements. Wish she was still at it. But she may have found a greater way to life fulfillment. Best wishes to her. As Africans, we are proud and supportive of her to this day!

That's a good documentary. My hope is that Mu, Hodgkinson and (give her a mention) Mary Moraa can push the 800 record down below the drug-fuelled times from the 80s

Worth mentioning that Athing Mu also won the silver medal at the 2018 Youth Olympics. The winner, Keely Small from Australia, was one year older than Mu (almost by the day).

YOOOO I'd love to see her and Sydney in the 200 let alone the open 4. If they both do the open 4 Mens 400 hype is forgotten

All those times back in the day. Eastern Bloc runners pumped up on steroids.

I love to watch Athing run. I think she loves to run, so why isn't she racing? When a coach keeps their stars locked up, behind the curtain, it raises suspicion and calls into question what is going on with the athlete. Whatever Bob Kersey is doing needs to be explained, with Athing speaking up. Better than letting the public speculate and question the methodology.

Let's be honest here for a quick moment what the "Powers to be" really need to do 🤔 is Eradicate EVERY questionable record from the 80's. Which is a LOT...
It's so annoyingly clear that in the 80's a very large percent of the Athletes burning up the Track and Pulverized existing records were JUICED to the max. Yet many of those record still stand today 🤔🤔 ... c'mon man.

Sigh…stop making us fall in love with her. Her coach only seems to want her to run at championship races…BORING

Kersee is pushing Athing into the 1500m but I think it is because he wants to leave a clear path for Sydney in the 400m. And his allegiance is to Sydney first. But I think that does a disservice to Athing. We will see if she continues to have her closing speed in the last stages of the 800m now that Kersee has put her in 1500m races. If her closing speed is NOT there, then its time to put her in the 400m. She has always benefited from running the full gamet in her youth. But her first year of college, she ran her fastest 800m races when she was simultaneously running 400m races. He long limbs are great and grace full but she needs strong foot speed to get fast 400m times. Putting her in the 1500m race is not going to do that.

Push Sydney and Athing against each other. Athing is not going to be the most decorated Olympian if you put her in the 1500m races. You are all but clipping her potential. Pretty soon she wont get considered for the 4x4 which she should run when scheduling allows. If we don't see Athing Mu move down to the 400m race in the next year or so, expect her to move to a different coach. It is far rarer to see a medalist in the 400m and 800m race. Having Athing break that boundary so people stop thinking of the 800m race as distance and start to really think about it like the sprinting with strategy event it is would be far more revolutionary for the sport.
