Having access to affordable fresh water should be a human right, whereever you are.

I hear that a lot from Americans living in another country that they miss the small talk.
But to be fair, most of them don't speak the language of the country they decided to live in.
Speaking the language will definitely help.

I'm glad you get to see your family Sky, and I hope and yours will have a great New years eve. 🥂😊🌷

Something else you'll not be able to unsee: the most prominent thing on the front of an American house is the garage instead of a front door.

I'm glad to seebyou and your fam having a good time in the States, but I'll also be glad if you're back again, walking the streets of Haarlem, Leiden, Amsterdam and wherever. Sky is now OURS! 🤣 Happy New Year! Stay safe!

Not Just Bikes already said it and I noticed while watching your video: Cities are not loud, cars are loud

My sister lives in San Diego and doesn't drink the tap water, but when I was there I always did... I had no issues with it. Here in Canada, almost nobody buys bottled water to drink at home.

I agree with you about the predatory advertising in the US. It's insane.

We unfortunately also have a crazy car culture here. I love the Netherlands for not needing a car (been there three times and really loved it.)

Hi Sky. Gelukkig Nieuwe Jaar en al de beste voor 2025!
Water here is not chlorinated but ionized and that is why we have so good water. I saw a few pot holes in your vid. Nice houses but forget the infrastructure.
Strangely it is quiet this year with the fireworks.

This is how I see some aspects of American culture: a preference for large trucks and spacious homes that may not always be the most efficient, combined with a diet that often leans toward processed or unhealthy foods and sugary drinks. Access to fresh drinking water and regular exercise also seem to be challenges for many. These habits can make people more vulnerable, not just in terms of health but also in fostering loneliness, as the lifestyle often prioritizes individualism over community connections, further impacting resilience and well-being. And you love money to much…

nice video ! a happy new year !! What struck me most in this video, a beautiful city, nice weather, but I really don't see a bike and indeed almost nobody on the street.

i was in Deland(FL) years ago, and the water tasted like chlorine for sure. water in the Netherlands is about ( depending which province you are in ) €1.06(incl tax) for a 1000liter (264gal.) btw happy new year!

There are a couple cities in the Netherlands where the tap water is using the same water source as some bottled water brands.

The last seriously cold winter we had in the Netherlands was 2010 (global warming, yay!). So, as long as temperatures are not below zero (celsius) all day long, we do not consider it to be really cold.
(Also, my first visit to the US iwas in 1992, and we flew to LA. It was a total culture shock to me and my friend that we literally did not see anyone walking in the streets for the full 48 hours we spent there.

bottled water also contain trace elements of plastic softners that keep platict from cracking.
but those are slowly leaking out of the plastics.
that is why old platic crackels more easy than new plastics.
those chemicals end up in the water that you drink.
that is one of the reasons why tap water in the netherlands is cleaner and safer than bottled water.

I have to say, I was incredibly shocked to find out that for a country like the US, that is the biggest economy in the world, has no free and fresh water. So instead you always have to buy bottled water. That is truly insane

I agree with everything you’re saying! I moved to Mexico and it’s so different. I don’t miss all that advertising- especially for pharmaceuticals and get your shots. It’s so much healthier living outside the USA
