It’s sad how bettas are some of the easiest fish to keep but also one of the most neglected and under cared fish out there.

When I got my first betta, the people at the aquarium laughed at me when I said I wanted a 5 gallon for him. In their words, “it’ll stress them out if the tank is too big, plus it’s just a betta”. They tried to sell me one of those tiny betta tanks, couldn’t roll my eyes faster. My mom thinks he’s right because he works at the aquarium 🙄 I got my way in the end and got a 7 gallon, kept him for 2 years with a bunch of plants that I had to keep replacing because I have no idea how plants work 😅

I’m a newbie for the 3rd time. I had two tanks in the 70’s as a teen. Had two again after I married for my kids in the late 80’s. Again now that I’m retired and 60. I bought a 2nd hand 29G and love fish videos. Don’t have room for one bigger so the 29 it is. Have taken notes from Cory and others and love the way you make your presentations. Did plenty research and I’m running a Tidal 55 with media and charcoal, Eco-complete substrate and a mixture of artificial and live foreground plants.

I was/am so crazy about platies to the point of having hundreds and not even thinking of let go of a single one, they're close to perfect, great community fish, and all those colours and their genetics, you just want to get more room and keep them all.
My favourite little fish, since I first saw them as a little kid. First fish that bred for me as well and got me into the hobby. Love them!

Best channel I’ve seen. Most other channels give you a few minutes of information sandwiched between a lot of fluff. KGT is very professional and informative. Thumbs up!

My betta sorority love your videos! I place the phone against the glass . And they gather around watching it. I've seen them swim away John when your back on camera though. Lol seriously.

Beginner hobbyist here and loving your content!

I've wanted an Oscar since I was 5 and my girlfriend got me one after we had bad floods to cheer me up.
Stunning creature!

I picked up 5 multis from the local fish store where an employee breeds shellies.

They have so much character!

I recently moved my five corydoras from a ten gallon (after about 8 months) to a new planted 29 gallon tank. I have one large bronze cory, two peppered and two albino. I moved the large bronze over by himself and kept him alone for a day. The next day I added the two albinos. A few hours later I moved the two peppered corys. When they were finally reunited, it was so funny to watch them celebrating. They spent about ten minutes hitting into eachother, going around in circles together & swimming together all over the tank together just like old times. They did their own version of high-fiving each other. They do have a lot of personality.

Thanks for talking about the personalities of Bettas. When I was a teenager my father set up 2 twenty gallon tanks with a 55 gallon in between. All built into a wall in the basement. We had a Betta in the big tank with many others. He was charming, (he was named Fuji) would swim up to our fingers when feeding and was very friendly. We had various tetras, an algae eater, etc. All were fine except the the angel fish. Serial killers! They killed so many fish. Put me off them for life.

I have both the Betta and platty. Each in their own 10 gallon tanks. 1 blood red veil tail Betta, 8 salt and pepper platties and 1 red wag tail platty. All doings well right now. Cleaning the tanks once a month, feeding once a day and loving it. I always wanted to get back into this hobby and I made a good choice getting the platties from a friend, and saving the Betta from a life in a cup at a pet store

Ummm, BOTH! Big fish nerd that will watch anything on options available. Don't we all live in the realm of possibility? Also, nerding out on fishkeeping is never time wasted, am I right?!

Just found your channel and I’m loving it! I would have included Rasboras on this list. They are small, typically quite durable and active, and come in some amazing colors and patterns.

I just discovered your videos and think the information you’ve given about aquarium fish is very helpful. I have taken care of one female Beta that someone bought and didn’t want anymore. I made some serious errors in caring for that fish, and am ashamed to say that it died. I’ve done some research on Betas since then and have more to learn. Then one of my room mate’s kids had a male Beta that she could no longer keep so I decided to try and take care of this guy. His name is Ace, and I have him in a five gallon tank with some live plants( and a filter). I live in Hawaii but am still planning on getting a heater for my fish tank asap. It actually got below 70 degrees out here this past winter! 🙂Thanks again for your videos!🐠🐟

In the UK you’re quizzed about everything (at least in all the shops near me). “What size is your tank?”, “How long has it been running?”, “How heavily stocked is it?”. Sometimes I come out sweating like I’ve been through an interrogation. I guess it’s good though.
