Those Bettas you showed are gorgeous! I keep about 20 in separate containers and they are easy to keep. Regular water changes, and small feedings of once to twice a day and they should live for 2 to 6 years. The Bolivian Rams are definitely a safer choice for beginners than the German ones. A tank with Cherry barbs, cardinal tetras and the pepper cory (Corydoras Paleatus) cats would be great together.

How about also doing top 5 intermediate level, all the way to very-experienced level fish list?

Kuhlis are my all time favorite. Had one that lived in my tank for 14 years. Was very friendly and swam to the front every time it saw me.

I am a fairly accomplished aquarium hobbiest, but I'd like to thank you for all the knowledge you have bestowed for other enthusiasts and beginners. Your channel helps others in ways we could not learn by ourselves in the past, pre-youtube. Thank you very much! All the Best, The Sleep Tights

Although I’ve been in the hobby for a few years, I’m scared of getting any fish that isn’t easier then beginner level. I got my first snail yesterday! Wish me luck with my ecosphere!

My MIL bought 5 thirty cent goldfish last year to put in her pond, she put them in a massive tank in September due to weather getting colder (we live in Minnesota) and I was astounded by how much they grew, they're all about 5+ inches and I know they'll get bigger this summer, we can't wait to see their growth at the end of the summer.

Good to see people putting the word out about the gold fish. This is a really neat and wonderful fish to keep, but they need proper care. I had six small gold fish in a twenty gallon tank and they lasted less that a year because I thought they were easy to care for since every child has had a gold fish bowel here and there.
Twenty gallons per fish is recommended and they are really best off in outdoor ponds and the larger the better.

Danios are great starter fish imo. Really lively and hardy.

Awesome video! I've been keeping fish for almost three years now, and am always working hard to learn all that I can. You can never know enough, after all. I love my Pleco, she's super chill and easy.

I'm so fortunate to live in the Seattle area. My partner and I love shopping at your store and we've purchased koi angelfish, blue German rams and neon tetras. You guys are the best.

Great list, when I was in my 30’s I use to have a 100 gallons tank, I had most of all the fish you mentioned except for the goldfish
I also had black balloon mollies, swordtail fish, loved them all. No longer have the tank, I’m 62 and I’m thinking of getting an aquarium but smaller. Thank you for sharing the info.

That was the best description of cories I've ever heard. Jump on the Kuhli Wagon everyone - they are so much fun! For those who like loaches, (and who doesn't!?) I would suggest the very mild mannered Zebra loach. Around 4 inches, they like to shoal together, very active, and they will interact with other fish. Basically a miniature clown loach. I would also suggest either the sparkling gourami for small tanks or the paradise fish as a replacement for your Betta scenario or Angelfish scenario.

I have to say, I was never really a livebearer fan until I kinda forced myself to try them out. I got some mollies and now I really like em, they bred in my tank all on their own, they are super active, the tank is just always alive and they constantly begging for food, eating just about anything. Only downside is that they poop a lot and breed a lot(or at least mine do) so be prepared to deal with them accordingly.
