It used to be like $300 American on Jomashop just a few years ago. Ahhhh those were the days!

I bought a 90s Hamilton Khaki field in 34mm with an acrylic crystal and a base ETA 2801-2, love it!

I love mine. Absolute beauty. Bought it four years ago. Today's prices are simply ridiculous. No AR, mediocre lume, low water resistance for this century.

Can’t wait to see if EREBUS brings out a field watch before Christmas 😅

Coincidentally just wore mine today for the first time in a long while. It's a great watch, "iconic" even.

I choose to believe it's housed in a plastic movement holder for shock absorption reasons.

Why is a plastic movement holder a negative? Plastic spacers are common, even with vintage watches, and if anything they make more sense than using metal. Which is more impact resistant - plastic of course.

I have this watch and it’s become my out-and-about, forget-it’s-there choice. I love my bigger, chunkier watches but this sits so snugly and is so thin. It keeps better time than many of my more expensive watches and is so easy to read at a glance.
It’s perfect for changing straps and, being so thin, doesn’t get too bulky with a nato.

I have the white dial one and love it! The only problem is to this day I'm still not sure whether I prefer the more classic black or more versatile white.

The watch looks great, is thin enough to wear with natos, has the most amazing winding action. I paid just over 400 usd for it a year ago.

An Aliexpress copy is just a meaningless commodity, this is a Hamilton, the watch US troops wore in Vietnam!

quite honestly while most aliexpress homages have clear disadvantages that cannot be ignored, this watch is so simple the price is simply ridiculous, this time chinese homages LITERALLY give you 99% of the experience

I'm wearing my bronze Hamilton Khaki field right now. It and my Baltic Aquascaphe blue gilt combined account for 80% of my wrist time 🎉 The Khaki Field is incredibly accurate and supremely comfortable. If it walked off, I would go buy another one the same day without thinking twice

Hamilton khaki field range is one of my favorite bang for buck swiss made watches.

ps. it's amazing how these have crept up in price (like everything else), got from Jomashop US$425 two years ago ($390 - 20 + 55 delivery and duty). The shipping and exchange isn't nice but still far better than people get ripped of in AUS! Keep pumping out the edits Jody!

Miltado looks identical with sapphire and screw down crown 100m wr and Seiko meca quartz. 45 dollars

Wearing mine at the moment. I fancied the brown dial version but settled for the black dial, exactly like the one reviewed here when it came up second hand for a very good price. I love handwounds, I love not having the date and the power reserve is fantastic. Very accurate, too. But 36mm would be perfect. Can't have everything.

Agree with your comment on overpricing of the swatch group. Just did some windowshopping (first time since approx a year or so) and was shocked when I saw that exact Kaki Field model at the AD -> 690 EUR. Couldn’t believe this price tag …

You should check out the bronze model. It's the coolest. 😎

The two CWC watches pictured were not direct comparisons to the Hamilton Khaki mechanical. The two you've had in for review have both been special editions, hence the extra cost. CWC's standard g10 field watch was issued from the 80s, to the present and is half the price. Want better water resistance and sapphire? They do a Sapphire 200m field G10 for £350. Brilliant military watch, swiss made, better spec and more reliable than the Khaki.

Hi Jody,
I would like to see a version without the faux patina and 10 ATM. That would be such a perfect everyday watch.
Best wishes,
Claus

I love mine and can't imagine ever selling it. It's hard to think of cons but the top 3 for me would be no AR coating, long lugs, (it only suits nato straps) and weak lume. It pairs really nicely with a variety of nato strap colours and leather nato straps.

Surely the newer Citizen titanium eco drive watches warrant a look?
