I think likely what happened in the fishing story was the guy had likely died via an allergic reaction from the bees stinging him, followed by the piranhas coming in to feast on him after he was already gone.

my guess is that the piranhas snacked on the man's body afterwards, despite their reputation, they're really not aggressive or known for attacking humans unless they are really really hungry, which in a natural enviroment isn't all that likely, but they'll nibble at stuff when it's in the vicinity and they won't say no to a meal and a body won't put up a fight.The face is usually the first thing that goes with any animal predation because it's always exposed.

I haven’t researched this, but in the many tellings of the bonus story, supposedly those were sadly killer bees and so they kept following the guys and they’d always been stung many times. The guys figured jumping in the water would make them go away and it supposedly worked, but the one man had been stung pretty badly ands was lightly bleeding from the many stings and that supposedly got the piranhas attention which got them to start nibbling on him. I’m not entirely sure since I haven’t in depth read about this one.
