I think it's funny as hell that the harkonnens come from Heroes and the Atreides come from a monstrous race of oppressive machines controlled by giant brains called Titans who were ruled by an artificial intelligence they themselves had created. What's really messed up is because of a lack of communication made the harkonnens seem like cowards when, in fact, they themselves Were Heroes. So after reading those books and knowing what we know. Technically speaking, in the time that the first dune movie took place Vorian Atreides theoretically still could be walking around somewhere in the Republic and theoretically could have fathered hundreds of Millions of children before the Atreides family took possession of Dune. All in all. Those were damn good books!

I wish y'all would differentiate between Frank Herbert's Dune & the Extended Universe by Brian Herbert & Kevin Anderson. There are quite a few fundamental differences in the extended universe.

Wow, I really missing much content that I previously trough, I already read six of the Brian Herbert books, I think that he is a better writer than his father in some points, Frank Herbert books themes can resonate with modern audience, but there are so things that are very out of touch, like the Pocahontas Love Story, I really hate that plot with passion, after the bullshit Dune 2021 and the sequels are done, I really wish more loose adaptation of Frank Herbert books, with some mayor changes in the story.
