I am now always shooting in S-Log3 on my A6700 and using colour space transform to convert to Rec709. I always avoided S-Log3 due to the high base iso but if you over expose like you explained the noise is surprisingly minimal. It has great dynamic range and is more forgiving with no blown out highlights or shadows. Thanks for the tutorial. 😀

What about exposing when recording at night? It seems like my footage is noisy even with lights and at my base iso (800)

Are you using multi metering or spot metering when exposing?

I've heard from colorists that you want to do your color and light adjustments before your Rec709 conversion because your technically working with more colors and information before you smash it down to rec709, which is a smaller colorspace.

But the Multi Meter recognizes the exposure on the entire display and not just on the object...this means, that it’s technically impossible to set the MM to 1.7 for example because the exposure recognizes every bright lights etc. on the display and therefore adjusts the MM
