Yes, the water stop can and does walk off the tube if not properly cemented or if the cement is not cured. We recommend holding the stop in place for 30 seconds to allow the cement to cure.

DON'T LET GO after pushing valve onto pipe.  KEEP APPLYING MODERATE PRESSURE on valve for 30 seconds to prevent valve from pushing off pipe.

Thank you uploader. Just exactly what I needed to know. Appreciate it this many years later!

Yeah, I want to know how you removed the OLD valve. Did you cut the cpvc supply line close to the

Thank you for your input. The video does address turning the main water line back on. It is right after they talk about consulting the solvent weld's manufacturer recommended cure time and turning off the newly installed valve.

After you pushed on the valve and released it, you could actually SEE the valve move off the pipe about 1/8".
That is why you pushed the valve back onto the pipe after wiping off the excess glue. Well done.

One more thing:  DON'T turn on the water pressure for at least 6 hours. I would let the joint air-out for a full 24 hours to give the glue time to harden, otherwise it might just POP OFF the pipe like a cork. So many times people wait 4 hours and it works great for a few minutes, then pops off a few minutes later. So give it time to harden.

If you hate waiting for glue to dry then use PEX pipe, or soldered copper pipe instead.

Yea, that is why at 2:37 the narrator states to hold the valve and tube assembly together for 30 seconds to prevent pull-out. However, it seems that they didn't follow their own advice during the assembly here while they were explaining each step. Nice catch.

Thanks for this video. If we ever need to remove the fitting, what’s are the options aside from cutting pipe?

Got it thanks. Good job with the video. My only recommendation is that you forgot the step of turning back on the main and things to avoid when doing so.

I was told by a licensed plumber after following this video’s directions NOT to put purple primer with the CPVC. It eat away at the glue and doesn’t last. The water pushed the shut off valve completely off twice after 1 day and a half of being on. So annoying...

How do you remove a shut off valve like the one you installed to replace it with a new one?

Dont forget to tell them to tighten the anglestop parts together

2:20 - 2:22 watch the valve slowly backing off the pipe.

Good vid. When/where/is the compression ring and nut used? Thanks

Should you use a pvc tube cutter to cut the old valve?

It’s strange how they don’t address what to do when the brass craft valve is leaking. These are pretty much for looks. I had one leak at the valve at first installation. I installed two of these and after they were closed a year later they both leaked.
