The directions say "after removing the old fitting..."  Well, that's the part I needed to see!

Great video. I wish you explain that with a compression valve you shouldn't use and paste or tape to make a better seal or fit. The paste or tape on a compression joint or valve will cause a leaky valve or joint.

For removing the old fitting I strongly recommend getting a compression ring puller. They're pretty cheap, and they make the job of getting the nut and the ring off very very easy and clean. Over your lifetime that $10 is very well spent.

According to Murphy's Law a shut off valve can be relied on for many years until a few moments before you actually need it.

I was able to solder new copper pipes, add pvc drains, and even add new electrical wiring to my house. The last thing to do was to add stop valves and to be honest I was a bit intimidated, but after watching this video I'm more than comfortable to do it. You got straight to the point, and were very clear and specific about the job, materials, tools, and method. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! I too was at a loss, and the package instructions were no help. Being a woman and my husband being out of town I too needed detailed instructions in which this video supplied. Thank you so much!!

I didn't have room to get a wrench underneath the new valve. I used a 2.5 inch 'C' clamp and found that worked really well, actually better than an adjustable wrench. It works from below or above.

Thank you so much for posting this I was lost installing this and was totally frustrated as I did not have a lot of time to keep the water shut off as I live in an apartment. Thanks again!

I kept the old nut . Used teflon tape before installation of new valve. Bought this house with the valve off . Was never told by previous owner that it was leaking until we install new dish washer

Great vid - direct, clear & to the point.

If my new 1/4 turn BrassCraft lasts 22yrs, like the old BC multiturn that it replaced (after damage), then I can't promise you a lot of repeat business, but a lot of geed word of mouth.
