Thanks for the video. Viewers will want to be wary of cutting old (like 1-2 decades or older) CVPC as it may have hardened and is brittle to crush pressure from the traditional clamp PVC cutter. Real danger of breaking the pipe, perhaps along the pipe. Instead, you'll want to use a C-cutter, wheel cutter, or hacksaw to cut the pipe, doing so carefully. If close to the wall, like with one reader and in my case, you'll want to proceed more carefully. The tight spot I had didn't allow me to get any tool in there and a small wheel cutter had no room to turn.

What I did was was take a jigsaw blade with small teeth and clamp it in the jaws of a vice-grip with a 1/4 in. piece of wood, sticking straight out. Draw a line where you want to make your cut and saw carefully forward and back from left to right (or the other direction). You'll get 90 percent of the pipe going across from both directions, then it's pretty simple to shave away the last part against the wall and complete the cut.

You made this look simple thanks. But you know if you have old pipes they become brittle so if you are cutting the pipe with the cutters you used you have to be extra careful. Use a sharp blade and score all around before you squeeze the cutters. Otherwise if could break that pipe and have a bigger problem on your hands. I like the idea of using a fine tooth hacksaw blade. Then clean up your pipe before you glue.

Hey on the new shutoff valve, does it come with everything you need to attach it to cpvc, or do I need an attachment for the threads to glue it to the cpvc?

Builders that use plastic water pipe should face a firing squad.

I have another problem and that is the valve and CPVC/PVC pipe is coming from the tiles below rather than the Drywall. And there is not a lot of slack in the CPVC to cut. What do I do then? I want to replace the valve as I want install a T above the valve to install a hand held bidet but the flush is connected via a solid steel pipe which won't come off as the threads are jammed. What would be the best solution in this case?

If that CPVC is old the pipe cutters will shatter the pipe into hairline fractures. So keep a CPVC hack saw handy.

I have a pretty bad situation the pipe at 0:29 on my toilet is cracked off. the "screw" portion is stuck in the actual valve while the rest of the plastic pipe just stick up from the floor. I'm assuming that the only thing left to do is completely replace the pipe itself but it runs (i'm assuming') through the bathroom walls. Is there any other way around this without going into the floor/walls to rip out the pipe?

How long did you wait for the glue to dry?

My cvpc pipe has no room to cut without hitting the wall. How do I fix that issue?

Get sharkbite valves. No need for pvc cement.
