If you get in an airplane at 5am and fly across the world you can technically show up at 5am the same day. Time is relative because to you inside the airplane time passes normally. But to people on the ground you're flying through our measurement of time which is called time zones. If you travel back in time you are only traveling to where we used to be in relation to the sun itself. You can go there, but the Earth and the rest of the people on Earth are still in motion and you are in space by yourself. the dimensions X, Y, Z, and Time is just a location in space at a specific moment we measure through 24 hour rotations of the earth and 365 rotations until we get back to our starting position around the sun.

I wish i could make a device that could move close to the speed of light to jump forwards into the future. Just to see how technology has advanced ( or if we've killed each other because no one can get along / climate change is never taken seriously). Some actual sci-fi stuff that's realistically possible if highly improbable.

It's not "time travel". There's no such thing as time travel. There is no future or past that exists to be traveled to. Objects just exist in the present. And those objects can slow the rate at which time passes by moving faster. But they only exist in the present. They cannot go to the future or past. Everything just exists.
