Some scientists take time travel seriously. Should you? What does time travel reveal about the nature of space and time? What about the laws of physics under extreme conditions? And don't forget those 'Grandfather Paradoxes', where a time traveler kills his own ancestor.

If time travel to the past is possible it implies that every time frame is equally real because in order to go back in time the past you return to must exist for you to go there. So past, present, and future would all exist simultaneously.

Listening to Michio makes me want to become a scientist myself

I’m leaving this message for my daughter. Make the most of your life, always give your best and treat others as you want to be treated. I will always love you and I have tried to teach you what true love and compassion is so that one day, you may teach this to your own children.

That’s what also John Titor said about the parallel timelines.

How does he know it takes the energy of a star to time travel?

We can time travel using out minds, thoughts and dreams..but not physically.

In my case., I can still remember some events when I was 3 yrs. old 50yrs. ago. It was my conciousness that giving me that vision to the past. Eventhough that was long time ago but still it's unforgettable? Concious can travel faster than speed of light & below zero energy to travel to the past while lots of energy to the future. If I have lived from the past & my concious from the present can connect on my past concious w/ negative dark energy while tons of energy is needed for possibilistics conciousness to go an hour or days to advance to the future.

In quantum, a positron is an electron travelling backwards in time and an electron is a positron travelling forwards in time.

If you want to view time as a one dimensional history of causality, your only option is to include the electron / positron pairs running time in a circle, but include their outputs or results in your singular time dimension with quantum-like probabilities.

To travel backward in time requires the universe to revert to the position everything was in at that chosen moment to be a complete representation of that time. Think of the implications of the newly born child being unconceived, planets reversing direction, rivers returning to their source, weather patterns reverting, rain going back to the clouds, your pulse running backward. Yes, it's absurd, but a requirement to keep the status quo of the moment if time travel into the past were possible.

I found a book left mysteriously at my front door on how to build a time machine. I build it. Then, I go back to my past and quietly leave the book of instructions at my ftont door, so that I can build it.... (love Bootstrap Paradoxes) 😨

So I watched tenet and my conclusions are 'what's happened, happened' but if you alter the past it only exists in the parallel world you are now in

Something tells me element 115 might be able to power the machine

Of course, it is possible only via quantum entanglement (faster than speed of light) and quantum tunneling. If it (time) can be slowed, it can be reversed.

The better question is why humans are so obsessed with the idea of time traveling?
We can in fact time travel if we use our imagination. Just close your eyes and start telling yourself you came from the future to let you know to live your PRESENT moment to the fullest. Take a deep breathe and recognize the beauty of your surroundings.

Why do people never discuss the most obvious problem of having successful time travel.

You have to know exactly where you are in the universe to ever return to where you start whether future or past makes no difference.

Let me explain simply. Besides needing that starting location, you have to know the exact rate of speed which our planet travels, and in which direction it travels, in relation to what rate of speed our sun moves through the Galaxy, also which direction it moves, the speed of the spin of the Galaxy is also a part of the equation as well as the soeed the Galaxy itself is traveling through the universe and it's direction.

Imagine the incredible difficulty of charting a course through time. Time travel is the exact combination of words to describe what you do. You travel, in distance, as you move through time.

Imagine trying to do any of this when you have no idea where we are in the universe. We would have to have available a precise map of the universe or there could be no return to the place you left.

If you did try to anticipate where you were going to land, in the future or the past, you had better be damn sure of your calculations or with just a very minuscule deviation, you would reappear deep in the Earth or up in the sky.

Understand what I am telling you here? There is no magical machine that automatically phases through space time alongside the Earth as it speeds through the universe.

By the way, the numbers given by scholars and scientists for these speeds is very fast. Each object: i.e. our planet, sun and galaxy, move at very high rates of speed. They travel, not in circles around each other, but, in routes most easily described as what DNA llooks like. Heliacal? Twisting through space as we follow our sun, which moves within the Galaxy, which is traveling through the Universe.

Time travel possible? Sure!
Practical or feasible? Not until we become much more knowledgeable in virtually every aspect of science relating to space and physics.

Thank you for hanging in there and reading this It might ruin time travel movies for you, though.
