I wouldn't characterize the Ukrainian effort as "losing a war for of the last six months..." - they were attacked by a greater force with more ordinance and by sheer will have not only held the invaders but pushed them back - that is hardly "losing."

Well done for keeping this situation at the forefront of people’s minds.

Small correction, Donbas wasn't Putin's main objective, it was the pretext to invade. His objective was the whole Ukraine.

The Russian focus has NOT always been been on Donbas. They wanted all of Ukraine. Donbas was the "excuse"

I hope this will lead to more CEASAR, PzH-2000 and especially the fast track of the 100 Krab guns from the Polish factories and stock.

Not necessarily to Russia's advantage to shorten the front. The Ukrainians can also concentrate their forces along the shorter front line.

A higher concentration of Russian forces , just means a higher concentration of artillery targets .

I am not sure I would classify a retreat leaving behind much of your equipment and running for your life "an orderly withdraw to fight for another day"

The glorious Russian army doesn't retreat, they just regroup. Comrade Putin told us. 🤣

That is so important to make sure we all are safe because some people seem like they cannot imagine the worst scenario

Density of forces also creates a target rich environment… 💥

Good video. What isn't mentioned is that the fleeing forces left nearly al their gear behind, thus, they are not simply "more soldiers in a smaller area, " as this overly simplifies the situation.
This view might lead some to think these are good soldiers in a new location. Instead, there are thousands of totally unequipped, disorganized, lost, and demoralized soldiers flooding helter-skelter into Russian areas and zones, taking their tales of fleeing and seeing Ukraine mow them down then told to other Russians.

And these fleeing soldiers don't even have food or a place to stay, transportation, or command structure.

This is all a military and morale fiasco for Russia; and worse yet, Ukraine captured a set of key rail lines and roads, making resupply and other issues far harder for Russia. It also means fewer rail and supply lines for Ukraine to watch and target. This may be judged the greatest rout since WWII.

Having a higher density of forces in a war largely fought with indirect fire is not a good thing for Russia, quite the opposite. This counteroffensive has the potential for a serious domino effect.

"Putin has flushed Russia down the toilet"

Something on the Donetsk front is that the Russians did want to use Izium as a point to attack Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, which if it was succesful could have threatened to encircle a large amount of Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline and forced Ukraine to retreat from the region.
But now that Izium and the western occupied area of Kharkiv have been taken, Russia will have to do frontal assaults to try and get the territory of the donetsk oblast which is much more costly in lives and takes longer to achieve, giving Ukraine more time to fortify and get supplies
