I love how this entire trailer tried to pull the "ok, Metroid Prime isn't that good, " and the entire comment section says "10/10, Masterpiece, one of the best games I've ever played."

Technically Metroid came out over a decade earlier than Halo, so Halo should really be called "Mr. Metroid."

One of the writers at Honest Trailers was clearly hurt by this game as a child and never forgave it

Singular Metroid?

There are tons of metroids in the game. And mutations of them too. You even showed footage of it.

Metroid Prime is the ONLY first-person shooter I have ever played that had good platform jumping. I loved it.

As someone who played the Wii port, I would say Metroid prime with a Wii remote works great.

The irony is that Doom 2016 copied a lot of Metroid Prime's homework.

As someone who played it for the first time 2023, I can confirm I did not bounce off of it. Great game, I loved it and it was the first Nintendo release in awhile to really pull me in

This video feels like it was written by someone who tried to play Prime on the GameCube, didn't have a great time with it, and is now venting his frustration based off of hazy memories.

"the game's singular Metroid"
Either they somehow didn't notice all of the Metroids attacking Samus in the space pirate labs and Impact Crater or they didn't play the game. That explains why they think people only like it because of nostalgia, too.

"...blast your way closer to the heart of the planet's mystery, and your fight with the game's singular actual Metroid."
You're forgetting the larval Metroids in the Space Pirate research center in Phendrana Drifts, the adolescent Hunter Metroids that show up in the Tallon Overworld, and the larger Fission Metroids in the Impact Crater.
It's like you didn't even play the game.

Imagine if YT still showed the downvotes.

2:39 ...The Wii motion controls were praised as the _best_ way to play Metriod Prime when they came to that system. Skip to today, and suddenly they should only be used "if you hate yourself"?

Singular actual metroid? You kill dozens of metroids in metroid prime wtf.

One of the greatest video games on the GameCube is back! Samus looks better than ever!

1:11 - refers to Metroid Prime (the creature) as "the game's singular actual Metroid". Wait, that doesn't sound right, I'm sure I remember...

3:17 - shows the player fighting a regular Metroid. Yep, that's what I thought. It's one thing to get a minor fact wrong, but to do it and then be debunked by your own footage? Get it together, people. 🤦‍♂

I know this video is a joke video, but for a game as good as this, it deserves better

Ok Wii motion controls are literally the best way to play the Metroid trilogy. It's just so fun.

Bounce off? No way, I'm a first time player and loved it. Compare to the Crysis 1 remaster which I tried recently and bounced off immediately. Metroid Prime may not be an outstanding fps, but that's not even the point, most of the time it feels more like Portal than Doom or Halo. They were definitely right to advertise it as a 'first person adventure'.

I'm surprised I didn't laugh more, this one wasn't actually very funny. Not because you made fun of Prime, but because the things you poke fun at are actually what make the game _fun._

Plenty of things to make fun of Prime about, and the Saw death trap joke was absolutely hilariously spot-on. But platforming and item scavenging and using the part of your brain responsible for finding an obstacle, noting it, and remembering it after you've learned a new skill or got a new weapon is a deeply human experience.

This game is such a breath air compared to other FPS games that tried to mimic it, or went another route entirely.
