This is easily one of the best games I've ever played. The artstyle, the music list, the novel gameplay and the writing. Easily a top contender for GOTY 2023 and an entry in all "games of the decade" lists as well.

Not to mention how each boss battle had me grinning ear to ear with the time synced cutscenes. And the Korsica boss battle has to be the most unique boss battle I've ever done in a while!! Had me literally squealling all the time. That rhythm parry system is easily one of the greatest game mechanics ever!

I am so happy to see someone use not-as-widely-known titles such as Parappa, Jet Set Radio and Darksiders as a mix to describe this game with. Alongside the name of Macho Woman Rekka Savage (Oooooh yeeeeaaaah) and other parts, this video was a proper delight.

In regards to games that mix music with other gameplay, i'd recommend checking out No Straight Roads which came out a few years earlier for something that's closest to this style-- though much shorter, more boss-centric, a bit rougher, and being a debut game by its respective studio. But the style, love and effort put into it absolutely bursts through.
Other music mixer games would be Bullets Per Minute and Metal: Hellsinger (FPS on rhythm), Crypt of the Necrodancer, and the upcoming God of Rock (music Fighter).

I can't really articulate how much I love this game. This singlehandly brought back my love for gaming in general when I was just starting to think maybe I'm too old for games. Rather than being too old for games it just feels like a lot of games just aren't trying to be fun anymore. Everything is about earning an extra dollar rather than giving an enjoyable experience. of course it's not like I've played every game that's come out but Hi-Fi Rush certainly reminded me why I love games in the first place.

I un-ironically want a Fromsoft rhythm action game. Their best boss fights are already pretty "dance-like".
