Game designer: carefully craft a world based on the geopolitical effects of the characters of all of the previous games but on the scale of millennia, so mostly hinted at or deducible only but definitely there.

Players: wow so there is no connection to any of the previous titles? why does it have the same name?

Don't let the bath scene in this video fool you. That was probably the most tasteful bath/hot springs scene I have ever seen come out of Japan. It manages to set the tone and character dynamics very well.
