I just realized that Ashoka went for the neck. Reminds me of when obi wan said “when I cut you in half, I should have aimed for your neck instead.” Great writing.

"YOU WANTED THIS CHAOS?!"

Be careful what you wish for Ahsoka.

Let us just pay some respects to Lucasfilm, Dave Filoni and 'The Clone Wars' team for this season and last arc.

Is anyone goonna talk about the fact that maul without a lightsaber destroyed a starship and killed almost everyone onboard? Differences between order 66 vs jedis and order 66 vs maul lol

Ahsoka chose to save Rex instead of go after Maul. Just like the Ahsoka book.

Guess Maul was kind of right when he said "WE'RE ALL GOING TO BURN"

Anybody else feel some pride when Ahsoka was holding the shuttle back with the Force? She has come so far.

I feel so bad for Maul man. Here's why:

Stolen away from his mother as an infant.
Raised almost solely by Sidious, who's obviously a very affectionate person. He beat, pushed and tortured Maul all his growing up years to train him to be a jedi killing machine.
Maul finally gets his chance to fight the jedi. Loses his legs at 22 years old.
Spends over TEN YEARS on a junk planet, pretty much all alone, eating scraps to survive and losing his mind.
His brother saves him and things start looking up. Then Pre Viszla betrays him (Maul obviously wanted to rule, but I'm pretty confident he would've let Viszla be like a co-ruler, so long as he was cool with Maul trying to build his empire rather then staying on Mandalore).
He defeats Viszla, in official Mandalorian fashion, and half his troops betray him because he's an outsider (which goes against everything the Mandalorians should be. Mandalorian culture is not for a single race. Its more of a creed. There was no reason to betray him other then xenophobia).
After holding Mandalore a few days, Sidious shows up, murders his brother, and takes him away to be tortured for weeks in an attempt to get the location of his mother.
Finally escapes, but in the end Palpatine catches up with him and kills his nightbrother brethren and his mother (who he literally tried to sacrifice himself for to save. But she forced him to retreat and sacrificed herself).
Gets back to Mandalore and has a vision. Starts to piece together what's happening and sets a trap to try and save the galaxy from vader (the dude was undoubtedly exhausted by now. The selfish thing to do would probably be to hide but he didn't, even if it wasn't just to protect the galaxy from Palps but to get revenge).
Republic attacks, and Anakin doesn't show. Ahsoka does. He does some, 'digging' and finds out she was betrayed by the order and left because of their hypocracy.
Shows up to talk to them, doesn't kill Bo, doesn't try to get the drop on them, releases Jesse as a show of good faith.
Shares the truth with Ahsoka. Ahsoka doesn't believe him and attacks him. (She doesn't know the dude, and he has done bad things, so in a way I can' t blame her. But her idealisticness caused a lot more harm then good).
Gets defeated, but can't die. Gets captured instead.
Saved by Ahsoka, only so he can be used as a sacrifice to cover her escape. She won't even give him the chance of a lightsaber.
Survives somehow. Ahsoka STILL tries to kill him, rather then work with him.

Goes on to go through all the stuff in rebels.

Seriously, his story is so tragic and he's just treated like he chose to be some monster. If he were a real person, he'd undoubtedly have PTSD and a whole host of other mental issues. I was really hoping Ahsoka would see that so he could catch a break but, as always, he has to play life on ultra-hard mode. The fact that he can still function is crazy, let alone effectively as he does.

I love when Ashoka went for his neck and then after he held it like “omg I almost just died”

*"You wanted this Chaos"* is Maul saying
*"I told you so".*

Maul fulfilled his part, she asked for chaos so she could run away while he was killed. He give her chaos, is not his fault she wasn't able to run away fast enough or that he was good enought to not get killed. #Mauldidnothingwrong

Dave filoni loves star wars.

And we as true fans, ought to be grateful for that

I’ve gotta hand it to Dave Filoni and his team, honestly. When they brought Maul back, I thought that was kind of a cheap move, but they’ve done a great job of turning him into a nuanced and compelling character. For all his undeniable badassery, there’s something almost pitiful, and even kind of tragic, about him. He’s been tossed aside by the real power players of the galaxy and lost everything that ever mattered to him. Now, he’s desperate to find some sort of purpose or connection to cling to, but he’s too deep in the dark side and the teachings of the Sith to even understand what he really wants. He can’t let go of his past, and because of that he spends his whole life going around in circles, never truly achieving or amounting to anything.

I don’t know why but there’s something really beautiful about the moment Ahsoka let’s Maul go. The playing of the Star Wars theme like that is just haunting. It’s such a good contrast to Anakin. Ahsoka is able to let go and never once uses anger or hatred, while Anakins inability to let things go and to forgive and forget leads him straight to the Darkside.

I just realized maul escaped in the exact shuttle type that brought ahsoka to meet obi wan and anakin in the 2008 clone wars film

Going to say it:

*Maul did nothing wrong, you wanted to unleash him, he was unleashed.*
