The Champions League is a far bigger trophy than the Premier League due to prem being "national" level instead of "european" level. I remember Sarri being sacked by Juventus due to getting knocked out in the Champions League after they won their national league... sad

i can't believe this is even a debate. the second most successful team in europe in britain has 3 european cups and 20 league titles! every single season one of the 20 wins the title, countries can go decades with no european cup wins.

CL is clearly bigger than PL.

However, this year I truly think Liverpool would have prefered to win the PL and City would have wished for the CL. There's no way that the lack of CL for Pep after leaving Barca doesn't eat him up.

I agree with Jamie, the champions league is the best cup to win, granted I love it when Chelsea win the league but the feeling of winning the champions league is a different level

Champions League wins are extremely special. Memories that last a life time. I'll never forget that feeling when Origi scored against Spurs to put it to bed. That buzz was the highest of the high, it's just epic.

Carragher being spot on again. He really is Sky's best pundit at the moment

Obviously the Champions League. It's the most prestigious trophy in club football. I'd take the UCL over a league title any day.

Real Madrid winning the champions league 4 times in 5 years
City winning the premier league 4 times in 5 years
It's obvious which one is more impressive and valuable

Micah actually made a point against his argument. You have 38 games in the PL but 12-14 games in the CL. You can make mistakes in the PL and have games to recover. You make mistakes in the CL, you’re pretty much at risk of going out.

The only reason a domestic title might be more important to a team than European success is if they have already have a great amount of success in Europe. And in England, this only really applies to Liverpool. It is like wanting to 100% a video game. The final boss is the Champions League (possibly the Club World Cup if it were bigger and people took it more seriously). Every other team in England should prefer the Champions League for the reasons Jamie said - it is one trophy for the whole of Europe, not one of several that each country has its own of.

Real Madrid have won the Champions League/European Cup 13 times, and La Liga about 30 times in that same time period. Which is more impressive?

Carra spot on again during the program. Micah and Redknapp again clueless.. in what world is winning the league better than winning the competition comprising of ALL of Europe’s elite… literally the best of the best.

As a Chelsea fan, I look back more fondly on the two Champions League wins, that I was lucky to witness in my lifetime, over the Premier League Title wins. I find the UCL more exciting! Plus, I love the bonus trophies that you get a shot at the next season to pad that trophy case, aka the Super Cup & the Club World Cup! Champions of the World, of the World, Chaaaampions of the 🌍

When players talk about winning a title, they mostly talked about winning the CL rather than their respective league title. Only fans of the club who never won the CL will say winning the league is greater

Being a United fan, I was always more about the Champions League. We were winning Premier League title after Premier League title throughout the years. So for me it was always the Champions League as I hadn't seen them win it. When we had won it in 99 and 08 I was still more Champions League but wasn't as bothered as I'd seen United win it twice in my lifetime.

Now all I want is to at least be able to put in a decent title challenge which isn't going to happen for a long time until those yanks are gone.

I've always viewed the champions league as more prestigious. There's something so magical about it. The best of the best.

Ask Juventus if they'd like to swap one of their league titles, even three of them actually, to win one Champions League. They'd say yes in a heartbeat. No comparison.

‘Which trophy is bigger’ Well I’ve done some googling and the Premier League trophy stands at 104 cm tall and is 61 cm wide. Meanwhile the UCL trophy only stands at 73.5 cm tall. Hope that answers your question.

They always say 38 games like the Champions League is a 2 game trophy, its a lot of games against only the elite and one mistake you are out when in the league you can lose 3/4 games and win, champions league there's no mistakes taken lightly. Man City slept for 2 minutes and they were out.

Champions League is always gonna be tough.

For Man City, the UCL is far more important. For Liverpool, the PL is far more important. They look like they are each going to win each others most coveted trophy.
