There are 2 main trophies that every English team strives to win season in, season out – the Premier League and the Champions League. No matter how much of these trophies clubs win, they always want more.

But the question is; which of these two trophies – the Champions League and the Premier League – is tougher to win?

We will not be giving an answer to this question. You will be giving us your answer. But what we will be doing in this video is to make arguments for each side to help you get to your answer. Are you ready? Let’s get down to it.

Every domestically has its difficulties but you know where most things will get their results and where they could drop points. In UCL nothing is ever set in stone or assumed because that’s the champions league, it’s unpredictability makes it amazing and even massive teams could even go to the final lose to the smallest team in the competition

Real Madrid lost to Sheriff at home and now are in the finals.

You’re forgetting one hugee factor though. It’s also harder to win the champions league as you have to first do well enough the season before to actually qualify for it. Meaning you have to do well for 2 seasons in order to win the champions league, as opposed to just having 1 good season like Leicester had

Champions league is harder because of the different teams, and the stress. Also, no one cares if you win the pl, so even if its easier to win CL its still a bigger accomplishment than Pl. Imagine you were a pro footballer and you tell your kids "I won 5 UCLs" versus "I won 5 Premiere Leagues" Which one would they be more surprised at? Champions League

PL is about consistency and being the absolute best across 38 games and against CL participants and potential CL winners whom you have to play twice.

CL is about key moments and you can avoid top sides to make it to the final.

PL is nothing like what it used to be you cannot drop points anymore and you have to play at an elite level almost perfect and consistently hit 90+ points to win each season. That is insane.

PL is harder to win in terms of quantity of games.

UCL is harder to win in terms of quality of games.

It ultimately depends on the teams you face.
Liverpool had Inter, Benfica, Villarreal
Real had PSG, Chelsea, Us (pain).

Is like comparing a short distance 100 m or 200m sprinter versus a 42.5 km marathon runner. Does it mean one winner is better than the other? I mean the bodies of sprinter and marathon runner are built differently so do teams. Its about which competition are you more suitable with the talents and resources you have

It depends on how you see the difficulty; The UCL is like a Track and Field race, you put in all your effort from the beginning, making sure you don't slip up, or make a mistake, because even the slightest of those things could see you out of the competition. Leagues, (and i used "Leagues" because this logic doesn't only apply to the EPL), is more like a marathon, you have to be consistent, and hope your opponents are not as consistent, there are rooms for mistakes, and slip ups, but you have to make sure not to make too many, and really kick into full gear at the end if you're battling with other teams for the title...
So the UCL is short, or at least shorter, but almost always difficult, hectic, almost no room for mistakes, and you have to be precise; while leagues are long, it is more lenient in regards to it can give room for mistakes, but you have to have consistency if you want to win it...

Now, on which is more prestigious, that's not even a question; to even get into the UCL, you have to have done well in your league the previous season, the UCL is an exclusive competition for the elites of Europe, the winners are literally the Kings of Europe, and the last time i checked, being Kings of Europe(football wise) triumphs over being Kings of a country in Europe.

If the pl mattered that much, then messi and ronaldo would want to be there, instead they're content in other leagues vying for the champions league. Let that sink in.

The champions league is harder because of teams playing different opponents which brings in a factor of luck...injuries also impact UCL more than EPL...you could lose 5 games in EPL and still win it when your players recover..UCL you only need to lose 1game to be out..

If the PL was harder, it doesn't explain why man city win the league left, right and centre and still bottle in the ucl, even barca in 2k18&2k19 when they won la liga but were smoked by Liverpool and Roma

Each team's differ, prem is harder to win if the team don't have the squad depth but if your team can't adapt them you will find it harder to win the ucl but if you have no squad depth then it's harder to win the prem

I don't know how one can argue against that, just look how many of the ucl final teams were the champions of their leagues, luck is really relevant in the ucl but in league format the champions have to win week in week out against teams who are holding for dear life or they are really good

To give a definitive answer to this question is impossible. Football, and in particular winning a competition like the league or the UEFA Champions League depends on series of variables?

To coin a phrase…

“in the hands of the football gods”

In my opinion The Champions League is harder than the premier League because it is so unpredictable it's basically a anyone's game example Man City, Bayern, PSG and Juventus basically win their Leagues every season anyone can win the Champions League even freakin West ham United can win the Champions League

For underdogs its easier to win champions league and for the favourites it’s probably easier to win the league as 38 games to show their quality whereas one bad game and you are eliminated from the ucl

the premier league is easier because to even be in the ucl you have to do great in the league

U can win the UCL in 7 games the EPL goes for 10 months. UCL is based on luck depends what draw u get. The EPL is about consistency. In UCL u don't need to be the best team in ur league but u can still win the UCL. For example in 2000 Madrid finish 6th in La Liga but they won UCL cuz they got the easy draw to get to the final. Same with Liverpool 05 and Chelsea 2012 both finished 5th but won the UCL cuz of easy draw going to the final.

In EPL u can claim to be the best in the league considering u played every team home and away for 38 games. In UCL u don't play everybody u only play what's given to u. There's more weight being EPL champions vs being champions of UCL. Plus the prize money winning the EPL is far way more money winning the UCL

For me the league is the bigger personal achievement but Ucl is harder and more professionally recognised however; paradoxically doesn't need more skill... because the difficulty is in the luck element needed to win it because of the ko format.
Separately, It seems a bit weird to me how you can be the "champion of champions" without actually being the champions of anything.
You can be, on paper, the best team and still lose UCL.. that doesn't happen in the league unless you get a freak season like Leicester.
