Preventative maintenance and don’t buy cheap parts, regular servicing and oil changes with the correct spec oil. I love my L322 4.4TDV8 and can’t think of anything I’d replace it with.

An honest review of a very complex vehicle. I've owned a RR L322 and I just loved it.

I absolutely love my 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 and hope it just keeps going for many years to come.

another positive is that it's the best looking of all RR's. timeless. much better to look at than the current car. especially true for the pre facelift L322 refined at BMW.

First time commenting and first time I've come across your content. Great stuff, and love this video. Thinking of replacing my Td5 Discovery 2 with a RR L322 next year.
Looking forward to watching more of your Range Rover videos. :)

Oil cooler is the most common on the 4.4 (circa 800quid to fix), followed by starter motor (probably 500+labour, or free if you do it yourself and refurbish), Alternators can go, probably a grand by the time you have labour and all the "whilst you're there's".

After that the common issues are really stuff like wires breaking or sensors for the air suspension (which are all cheap to fix). The turbo's are much more common on the 3.6, but not so much on the 4.4, I think these get tarred with the same brush though.

After that it's all servicing. My view based on my 4 years of ownership and hanging about in the forums and watching what people report. :)

Years ago I bought a L405 Supercharged 5.0 to replace my aging L322. Since then I restored a Range Rover Classic Softdash and just picked up a California 2012 L322 with the Supercharged 5.0 as I missed my L322. I had the dealer flat bed it to my mechanic where he replaced all coolant pipes/hoses, water pump, supercharger bushing, valve covers/gaskets, fuel injectors, spark plugs, vacuum pump, trans service, t-case service, diff The timing chains were replaced at some point or that would have been another $6k. Once these cars go off warranty, they get sold to the second owner who flog them and ignore basic maintenance. Thats when they blow engines and become parts cars.

Having worked for the company for many years it's my favourite vehicle 😊

First time comment!

Great video, nicely detailed and not too biased.

Keep up the good work.

So, how much you selling yours for?

Once again excellent l322 content Lucy all with valid points to note. Unless you've had one you won't get it. It's a go anywhere car, we've recently done the lake district 350 round trip, 5 of us plus the dog and suitcases, absolutely munched up the motorway with ease, conquered all the hills easily, down point only returned 19.8 mpg if your fussy lol. We're on our 3rd and wouldn't have anything else tbh.
Good luck with the channel

I have a 2013 RR Evoque - Santorini Black with a black interior, in pristine condition and very reliable. But what I really want is the model you have! Alas, In Hobart, they are quite expensive because there aren't that many of them and interstate ones are questionable! Love your content, Lucy!

Ireland here - The tax is so cheap compared to here. to tax a 4.4 in Ireland is €2400. Insurance would be around €600 depending on age and experience

(First time commenting) We buy Range Rovers (and other Land Rovers) because we love it, eventhough they will break any time... They are just amazing charming cars..😊

I came over from australia and bought a range rover sport and drove round europe...20000kms in 2 months...went into limp mode few times due to split hose which took 2 months to diagnose...then hit a bollard and insurance paid me out more than the purchase price!...great memories!

Its weird how much of a similar story I have... I bought my Baltic Blue 4.4 TDV8 with Ivory interior from a chap in Edinburgh and drove it back to the midlands about 6 months ago!
