It really pisses me off how despite this scene existing, people are STILL saying things like "In superhero stories, women are usually insignificant side characters" (that is a word-for-word quote from Seth Meyers; he said that more than half a year after this movie came out). Like, what's the fucking point of even _TRYING_ to do something progressive if people are just going to selectively ignore it anyway?

I like these characters, but not the way the writers were using them.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't understand the hatred for this scene, like at all!

Everyone says things like "It feels forced!" Really? After all of the stuff we see in this movie, why is it this scene is the one that gets flack?

Every single one of the Avengers allies all conveniently come to their aid at the exact same time when they desperately needed it! You're saying that's not forced!

Captain America yells "Avengers Assemble" even though 1) they're not all Avengers and 2) they're already assembled, so it seems a bit redundant!

When they're all charging into battle, what exactly is Spiderman swinging on?

With all of these scenes people are quite capable of suspending their disbelief and just enjoying them for the spectacle, but get a bunch of female heroes together and it's "REEE I DON'T LIKE IT, GET RID OF IT, I DON'T LIKE WOMEN DOING THINGS IN THESE MOVIES.... but I'm not sexist.... Not sexist at all... Not at all!"

Give me a break!
