Best Swiss Chard Recipe and How to Cook Swiss Chard

Hello Friends and Viewers,

Learn to cook Swiss Chard the right way by removing the oxalates which are present in it. By removing the oxalates, you will notice a remarkable difference to the taste of this green leafy vegetable.
I am sharing a South Indian recipe in this video. Very simple and easy to make.

Ingredients
400 gm Swiss Chard any color Washed and chopped
1 tblsp of coconut oil
1 tsp of split Urad dhal
1 tblsp of channa dhal
2 dried red chillies
2 cloves of garlic (optional)
1 medium sized onion chopped finely
a pinch of asafoetida
1 tsp of black mustard seeds
1 tsp of salt
2-3 tblsp of freshly grated coconut or dessicated one will also work
a few cilantro leaves for the garnish.

Method

In a pot boil water and add in the chopped Swiss Chard leaves with the stem.
Cook this for 3 minutes and then drain out the water.
Heat a heavy bottom pan on medium heat and add in the coconut oil.
Roast the dhals then add in the mustard seeds to splutter, asafoetida and the red chillies. Add in the garlic cloves and saute it shortly before adding the chopped onions. Saute it for about a minute and then add in the cooked Swiss Chard. Cook down all the remaining water and saute it.
Add the salt and the desiccated coconut, stir in shortly and remove from heat. Garnish with freshly chopped Cilantro leaves before serving.

Looks tasty and a nice tip. I hated Swiss Chard because of the after taste when I cooked it directly, now will try this way.
