My First Airport Standby As Emirates Cabin Crew | #emirates #emiratescabincrew #reserve

As a flight attendant you have to do some reserve duties, but as an emirates cabin crew you get a whole roster on reserve!
It’s a crazy thrill sometimes, not knowing where you’re going to fly to, or maybe not fly at all!

But I’m loving the change up in my flights, here’s to more Asia destinations 🌎

We only have home standby and it lasts 12 hours.

If you're on standby at LX, there is practically no facility at the airport, you can't leave the building to, say get a snack from the public airport area, it lasts at least twice as long.. home standby: 12 hours, be able to be at the airport within 1 hour.. (which in this day and age is only feasable if you live very close to the aiport).. and to top it off: flights resulting from standby can shift your ENTIRE schedule and you can cancel all your social engagements.. v.v

This is true. So many pilots go through standby at EGHQ I didn’t know it was the same for flight attendants

Ex EK crew! Hated airport standby!! Except for 1 time I always got called on nasty turnarounds. Do not miss any of it. Good luck to crew there now

That is so cool. I subscribed because I have been flying all my life. I have flown all over the world. I probably have 2, 000, 000 miles in the air. I get excited every time I get on a plane which is quite often.

I would LOVE to be a stewardess, flying all the time, sometimes not even knowing in which country you're gonna sleep tonight.. 😍
But at the same time I would hate it... Only getting paid after take off, no routine, no family planning because you're always away, difficult partnership for same reason... ☹️

Ugh! I hated being on standby reserve. I had to do that the first 5 yrs of my flying career! Then another 5 years of being on RSV every other month. Phew! I stayed on for 42 years though and some of my friends are still flying at 82 yrs old, doing long hauls. Lax- Mel- Syd!!!
