They showed us this very image in A School in San Antonio TX for Corpsman. We all wanted to be like him and do as he did. To be a USN Corpsman is to hold yourself to a higher standard of care for your patients. I loved being a Corpsman, went civilian 1 year ago in the medical field. It's definitely not the same!

As a former Navy Corpsman, this is very moving. it was a great honor serving and working alongside Marine detachment units overseas. The bond becomes close.
Regardless of the circumstances, corpsmen, will run towards the gunfire to save a life. To preserve and protect any life, was an unspoken code. Today, 40+ years later I continue to serve in preserving and protecting life in my profession.
It is on a different scale now.
