How to fix a leaking gutter - Simple DIY fix!

A leaking gutter or gutter joint can cause a lot of problems to your home. These can be anything from water damage, damp, dry rot and even foundation issues. A leaking gutter can easily be fixed by replacing the rubber inserts or replacing the gutter joint, follow my video for a simple step by step guide including a few top tips and tricks to make the process easier!

Good advice clearly explained. The Vaseline/Silicon grease tip was a real gem. Some people lather the joints in mastic or silicon sealant, but that will usually leak after a few weeks. Replacement rubber seals are the best option.

Just done mine before seeing this video
Some good advice.
The new joint was £3.99 which is excellent value for money. Attaching the rear part of the bracket was the hardest part. I put it in sideways then turn it around which helped . I also put in a little sealant membrane on the joint inside as I noticed the gutter had warped a little and wasn’t very flush .
Everything become easy …. Once you have had the experience

I've been tinkering with gutters. I've the old 100mm or 4 inch still. Impossible to get replacements I feel.

Don't use vaseline or any petroleum product as a lubricant with rubber - it will gradually eat away at the rubber. Use silicone grease instead.

Hello, Is it possible to fix the leak of down spout connect to the gutter drain. The leak is at the top of the spout connecting to the gutter drain.
