Existentialism has to be small r rationalist or it ceases to be philosophy. There is plenty of room for reason and argument in Existentialism. Why is a leap of faith necessary? Can we have knowledge of the supernatural? Is morality objectively real without God? These are all very Existentialist questions.

Freedom and subjectivity are central. Wether or not one finds Existentialism appealing or thinks it is bullshit has a lot to do with one’s subjective experience of the world.
