If the almonds are dehydrated before blending, it will be more fine when ground.

Thank you for doing this! I have a 5200 series, but no time for this. The consistency and time saved is worth it for me to purchase from Costco, as I don’t use almond flour enough to process it myself. Thorough, concise and ALL questions answered!

Overall a very good video for what it is, so thank you. But I think you are missing that you can also make almond MILK out of the whole almonds first. THEN you can use the remaining "flower" and let it dry out and blend a little more by itself if need be. So you actually get much more bang for your buck out of the whole almonds. Almond milk is like 4 bucks in the store per container. And you can make a lot more then that with that whole almond bag.

Thankyou for that, I had no idea. All said and done, in the UK a large bag( 1 lb?) Of flour is about £1. Half a kilo of almond flour, £14. Same with monkfruit. 14 x as much! I try and use more coconut flour these days. And don't get me started on allulose!!! It's expensive being slimmer and healthier.

I've been buying Kirkland almond flour for many years. Since I started keto in 2018. Recently I noticed these little black things, and lots of them, in the flour. At first I thought ok the almond wasn't peeled well so the skins got blended. But looking closely they are black. The almond skins are brown. I am now reconsidering ever buying it again cause I have no clue why these things are in there or what they are. Just for that alone it's probably worth making it at home. At least you know what's in it.

Yes I have been using almond flour for quite a few years. It really isn't worth the trouble because I just buy the flour when it is on sale and then it is cheaper then the whole almonds. I keep what I am not using in the freezer. The bag in progress is in the fridge.

Making your own is a hassle but the store bought has only 50% fat and that's not enough if you need it for keto recipes. Sadly, they're all deffated.
Also, in the UK Costco almond flour is £10.99 and raw almonds are £8.99

I found many flours are not very fine, and ground them finer.

A blender isn't going to get as fine as you want. You want to use a grain mill or a high end burr grinder on its finest setting.

where you are missing the importance of whole almonds is your are not getting the benefits of almond milk. So no it is not cheaper if you add in buying almond milk in a container, which uses less almonds per 1/2 gallon. So doing it correctly you benefit with not only almond flour but almond milk too.

But at least you know the almonds are pure nothing added.
