Whoever put that live round in that weapon is responsible and should be charged.
No excuses. RIP to the victim.

I felt this interview was genuine. Baldwin is an actor yes, but also a human being. He did everything according to what he was told to do. He was told the gun was cold. He did NOT put a bullet in the gun, He did not pull the trigger and there are witnesses. It is very possible the gun hammer was faulty and the gun malfunctioned. Too bad so many "know it all's" are suffering from tunnel vision ONLY because they hated Baldwin before any of this happened and are using this tragic ACCIDENT as a way to cut down the guy to the core. For these people will never see the facts nor listen and see the true human response from Baldwin instead of just being an actor. There has to be more compassion out there then just jumping to conclusions. He will probably be not held accountable for this in court. Not because he is famous, but because the facts will show the truth. The person who should be held accountable is the person who loaded the gun with a live round and the person who assumed the gun was cold, because this person obviously did NOT check the gun before handing it to Baldwin.

I can’t believe his lawyers let their narcissistic client do an interview like this for ABC or anyone. This is cringeworthy! It’s all about him. He feels no guilt?!? He was a producer of the film. He holds some responsibility for the safety of everyone on the crew.
The music in the background when he cries! Wtf! This isn’t a dateline special or 48 hours mystery episode.
I think he’s full of it. He better hope he sticks to his story and no one, that was there, discredits his take on what happened. This interview could come back and bite him in the ass.

Why did he do this interview. This is terrible and so disrespectful to the victims family

From some of these inane comments here, you can tell people have some personal animosity toward Baldwin, without even understanding how a movie set functions and why crew members have certain responsibilities.

What about heavy duty movie actions like Mission Impossible or Fast and Furious? What if an actor gets in a car in which the brakes fail and he ends up running down several crew members and kills them? Should the actor have inspected the car for every possible mechanical issue to make sure it was safe for him to drive? No. That's why movie productions hire safety experts. In this case, the safety crew didn't do their job properly and it resulted in a fatality. That is not the actor's fault. And if George Clooney follows a different protocol, good for him. But he shouldn't pass judgement by contributing his egomaniacal comments which don't resolve this tragedy now. Alec will have to live with this accident for the rest of his life although it was not his fault. That's enough for him to carry, and it's only because someone else didn't do the job they were hired to do.

I feel so bad for all of them. What a horrible thing to have happen. They must all feel so helpless.

I think mr Baldwin is right, as an actor he followed the instructions of the camera director, believing the person responsible for weapons and ammunition had checked the gun and declared it safe.
Furthermore, you don’t have to pull the trigger to discharge the gun. Dropping the hammer was enough.
Questions are, were did the life round come from, and who put it into the revolver ?
There is a great difference between a blank, a dummy, or a life (.45) round…

Looking at comments on facebook and Youtube people are so mean.
The man made a fatal mistake like nobody has ever died on the job.
Its sad yes and for him it must be horrible. But what is a live round doing
on a movie set ???? Like does anyone realize or think this also.
WHAT IS A FUKIG LOADED GUN DOING THERE
Someone fkd up and to blame the actor i find it not right.

I hope this won't destroy him but instead, he advocates for stricter gun safety measures. What a nightmare for all concerned.

I don't understand the hate Alec Baldwin is getting here. I don't know anything about props and movie making, and most likely neither do all the haters. I do not believe Alec Baldwin had any intention of killing this woman. Why would he? The problem is that there was a live bullet in the gun.

Negligent homicide. He will get off on the grounds he's rich . If that had been you or me . We would already be in jail

So is this involuntary manslaughter or does he get off free because he’s a celebrity?
