Perry’s Café in Old Town has been a staple in the community for San Diegans with an appetite for good food at good prices since 1985. The iconic San Diego diner officially closed its doors Monday. The location was sold to a developer who has plans to build more than 200 apartments at the sight.

Grew up going to the El Cajon one. It was down the street from me. Definitely old world vibes.

I would pass the El Cajon one as a kid going to school everyday. Never went in. Glad it was good to the people.

First Ruby's at the Oceanside pier, now Perry's here in SD. All the classic pop culture places are going fast. Too bad. It's not fun to be in CA anymore.

I was so sad when the El Cajon one closed 4 years ago. That ones a historic building too

The biscuits were delicious. My dad loved coming here when I was a kid and I’m glad I got to go one last time recently. So sad to see it close 🥲💔

Sad. I used to go there with my grandma and family when I was in town from Vegas. Always great food and great staff. Thank you for the memories!!!

Future place for the homeless near the “island”. They’re always near the freeway underpass

Ah ma, love Perry's. It's been a while since I've been there, I should have tried to go again before it shut down.

I used to eat there quite often. Haven't been in years because I got tired of wading through the sea of homeless to make the front door.

Nice job misspelling "its" in the title.

Happy she's on to new adventures, however sad for repeat customers - wishing the best for the employees.

I remember Anthony's on Harbor Dr. Is the La Mesa location still open?
