You do NOT need an anti virus, Windef does a good job, is updated regularly, and never begs you for money like all these "antiviruses" that are actually adware.

And no you aren't giving yourself "extra protection" by having both, Windef turns itself off when it detects an av so it doesn't conflict with it.

Just keep windows defender.

The Ads on Microsoft sites are not well vetted and can be quite creepy. Many if not most of the ads are generated by cookies and then are customized to your searches. For example I was looking at expensive blenders on Amazon in Chrome, only to find the exact same blenders on Edge in one of the Microsoft news sites. And some of the ads are for downright scams such as desktop coolers that are supposed to air condition a whole room. I shudder everytime I use Windows 11 just to check the weather. Now Microsoft, could you have a pay to not see ads service such as on YouTube or on Amazon Prime? Then my trust in a certain operating system outside of Apple and Linux might be restored.

I just realized that my graphs show a degradation of Dawid's videos overtime. I only have three data points, but the last two videos were 15 and then 12 minutes long and this one is only just over 10 minutes long. We've lost 33% of Dawid's videos (or maybe a better way to look at is there used to be 50% more). I'm going to start using a stopwatch to ensure the timer is accurately reflecting how long the videos are (length is all that matters in life of course), and I'll continue to track this.

I've been using edge since it came out and never seen this screen. First thing I do is make google my home page and when I open a new tab, I turn all of that off. Disable everything, you don't need it.
