I always appreciate it when the cheapest option is the most effective.

What I learned was that you could make a ton of money basically copying Blistex's formula and packaging it in a way that appeals more to younger people for double the price.

9:58 Heya, here's a note about your concern about the alcohol in Blistex. Ingredients like cetyl alcohol are fatty alcohols that are actually beneficial for providing formula thickening, application slip, and improved skin-feel in products. An "alcohol" is not always drying or volatile.

Showing the products in a mirror to both get it nicely in shot with the paper AND having space to manipulate it properly is genius level cinematography/production, good job!

I once had to panic buy a 100ml tub of vaseline for my lips because the store had ran out of all other lip balms, but it works so well that I haven't looked back ever since.

Blistex is the brand of choice of every brass instrument player I've ever met. That should be all the endorsement you need for it

I used to have crazy sensitive lips, so many lip balms made my lips burn. Vaseline advanced healing has been my lifesaver and it’s like $1.50 at Walmart!

As soon as you brought out the blistex I was like, THAT'S THE MVP RIGHT THERE!
I have the chapped lips struggle very very often and have tried heaps of lip balms and so far it's always blistex that has actually worked to heal my lips rather than just give a temporary cover (even though the menthol and camphor originally made me feel weird about it).
I get the version in a little pot rather than a stick and found it tends to work best!

This is the first Melissa-led video I've seen on this channel and I love the aesthetic choices here, yall found so many cool ways to film mundane things

Oh this is really useful and funnily enough, I landed on the same answer last winter: Blistex works the best. Now I need the same video but for dry hands in winter!

This has been my biggest health & beauty question for the last 10 years. I always got peelly lips even using lip balm brands that people recommend are really good. I found out that I am just allergic to common lip balm ingredients.

I've been swearing on the Blistex for years! Here in Germany Labello probably is the most common Brand but it's low-key a little expensive imo with ~3€ for one stick, so one day I just picked up the Blistex and it worked wonders. I use the "Classic Lip Protector" that comes in white packaging. It doesn't have that "menthol icyness", and it's a little sweet on the lips so that nice as well. Highly recommend!

So a tip for those who still have chapped lips even when using a chapstick that makes it a bit better. If you're somewhere where you can, then first wipe your lips off. Then apply water to your lips. I use a paper towel soaked in water and hold it to my lips for about a minute, but you can just run a wet finger across your lips a few times. Then after letting my lips dry off a bit (they should be kinda moist, but not wet ... sorry that it's hard to describe) I apply the chapstick. You can get the same effect by putting on your chapstick quickly after getting out of the bath/shower. The point is just to make sure that your skin gets some extra water.

I had to go this extra mile after moving from somewhere that averages 75% humidity and rained multiple times per month (a literal swamp and rainforest) to somewhere that apparently averages 0%? Though I think the source for that number is off and it's actually that it averages in the single digits somewhere. The point is, I had to go the extra mile since my body just couldn't acclimate on its own. This is at least what worked for me. For reference, I also use Blistex. Though I have to be careful since I live with someone with a mint allergy, which the menthol absolutely triggers.

Aquaphor all the way! I bought a Burt’s Bees Popsocket a couple of years ago, scraped the Burt’s bees out, and put Aquaphor in it. Now it’s always connected to my phone. Everyone always asks where I got my Popsocket from too and I hate they don’t make that collaboration anymore. It’s the only lip product I use other than lipstick.

Carmex fixes and prevents EVERY lip issue. The smell becomes addictive, and contains camphor and menthol (among other things).
I played trumpet in high school, and this fixed even sun and wind burn - I could literally still play with damaged lips, and they were healed within a day!
It's magic. And a super old brand. Like, my great grandmother probably used this, and I'm almost 50.

I just realized why I find this channel mildly cozy and nostalgic. It's the "3-2-1Contact" reboot we needed.
